We suck right now but its not within reality to argue that AP is a better coach than Pete Carroll, even at 73.pfish57 wrote: Sat Oct 25, 2025 6:27 pm The problem is the new regime is worse than our previous Utter Shit!

I didn't like the signing either and took shit for it. But then I watched highlights, read the stats, and eventually came around to the idea.BoKnows81 wrote: Tue Oct 21, 2025 1:54 am Um...I did. Geno Smith has NEVER passed the eye test as a QB. He had one cute little good year, but other than that, he was always garbage. I was ridiculed for being a Darnold guy. Just go to the Geno Smith thread that i created.
It's been like ordering a solid steak dinner and then talking yourself into going to White Castle.

I thought Geno was a good idea... I can't lie. Unfortunately, I was wrong. I'm stunned at how utterly bad he is. Sometimes ya just gotta step up and admit you were wrong... way wrong!Opoponax50 wrote: Sat Oct 25, 2025 9:36 pm I didn't like the signing either and took shit for it. How is it not within reality? I couldn't stand AP (he was garbage) but Pete Carroll at 73 years old and 7 games in, has single handily made the team worse and looks to be the worst coach in the league right next to Aaron Glenn. So, even if Pete is as equally bad now as AP was, that to me is within reality and legit argument worthy. It took longer than 7 games for AP to lose the locker room going back to when he was interim. Just saying. It is a fair statement (and one that i made upon the initial hire) that Pete needed to prove himself on the Raiders after being away from the game and now 73 years old. And he is failing miserably. His past is 100% irrelevant.DanKD wrote: Sat Oct 25, 2025 8:42 pm We suck right now but its not within reality to argue that AP is a better coach than Pete Carroll, even at 73.

I don’t know that his past is irrelevant in terms of thinking he’s more capable of improving things with more time. But based on what we’ve seen so far… yeah it’s been about as bad.BoKnows81 wrote: Tue Oct 28, 2025 4:48 pm How is it not within reality? Generally speaking I hated our offseason outside of Jeanty. We let 3 quarters of our defence walk for decent contracts (because they were good players) and replaced them from the bargain bin. The obvious issues virtually everywhere on offence got no attention beyond Jeanty and Geno.
I guess if I’m playing devils advocate on why Pete is better than AP… the results are comparable, Pete’s just doing it with a substantially worse team. This looks very much like year of a rebuild. AP basically kept the same team which on its face looked not entirely bad. Again… not saying it’s a great defence but it’s all I got. Like I said… I wasn’t a fan of what they did in their first offseason.

I'm so fed up with changing HC's GMs every 18 months.
Leave Pete in place until his contract's up. He's had one offseason to begin acquiring FAs and drafting rookies. Same with Chip Kelly. He's stuck with a QB that's a pick machine and an O-line that was bad last year and surprise-surprise, sucks this year too.
One offseason isn't going to fix this broken down machine.
After all this time, I can't even get mad anymore that we suck. I'd like to get pissed when we lose because that would mean we should've won a game that we lost.
Stick it out, keep building the team, and let the chips fall where they may.

Yea but changing coaches for us as of late has been the right move bc they've all sucked. When you know the guy isn't THE guy based on making a bad team worse and you know you settled, it's obvious things won't improve. Add in the age of Pete, getting rid of him is the right move. And Chip isn't worth a damn in the NFL. I do agree with keeping Spytek though. He deserves a shot to get his QB. Pete thought he had his QB when everyone else knew how bad Geno Smith was.Opoponax50 wrote: Sun Nov 16, 2025 8:11 am I'm so fed up with changing HC's GMs every 18 months.

Keep Spytek, give him a chance. And final say on coaches and players. No more HC/GM hybrids, ever.BoKnows81 wrote: Sun Nov 16, 2025 8:16 am Yea but changing coaches for us has been the right move bc they've all sucked.
