I didn’t say the cupboard was bare, a few other folks have asserted that.NoThanksSir wrote: Wed Oct 08, 2025 4:36 pm I wouldn't say the cupboard is bare, but they certainly inherited some baggage from past regimes that had to be taken out with the trash. Ultimately you can't ignore the poor personnel decisions. It's really hard to complain about your OL when your 2nd best player has to prove himself over the likes of Jordan Meredith and Alex Cappa. Or playing Zamir White over Mostert. And well, Geno smith is a disaster of their own design. One could argue we may have won a few extra games if not for this staff's decisions, which has nothing to do with how piss poor the previous regimes have been.

There's 6 (including the punter) players that would be locks to start on another team...that's not exactly a recipe for successraiderkoch wrote: Wed Oct 08, 2025 4:25 pm 100%. This cupboard, while not bare or completely devoid of talent, is VERY thin at best. What is really worrisome is the lack of addressing the lines and the handling of that, especially the O-line. The D-line, we thought we would have Wilkinson, but that head kisser got himself released. That just seemed like the curse again.![]()

My biggest problem with Carroll is his roster management...it has been absolutely horrific. Way too much indecision and waffling to instill any kind of belief that this staff knows what the f[raiders_icon]ck they are doing/and or actually believe that this wasn't a full rebuild... JPJ, Porter, Cappa, Thornton, Geno and on and on. Either ego or indecisiveness has crippled all confidence in team cohesiveness and trust. It's a complete shit show. Just don't see how we keep Carroll if this continues or even God forbid gets any worse. I don't see anything that leads me to believe that any improvement is on the horizon.

You said it much betterNoThanksSir wrote: Tue Oct 07, 2025 6:29 am The decisions on who plays and who doesn't is not being made purely from a football perspective, and it's becoming painfully evident.
JPJ, Jack Bech, Mostert, and Pratt have all been in the dog house for non-football related reasons.
JPJ walked into the building and declared to Jeanty that he was his center after Jordan Meredith during mini camp was told he was going to play center. This clearly ticked someone off and he had to earn his playing time like no other player has had to earn playing time...being clearly the best option at all 3 interior line positions but was relegated to splitting 1st and 2nd team snaps since day 1 of training camp. Despite being medically cleared to play from his concussion, he was a healthy scratch because he "didn't practice all week" despite being a participant in training camp since day 1. Brock Bowers with a severe bone bruise, and a compromised Blu Kelly played while a fully dressed JPJ watched us lose from the sidelines.
Jack Bech was part of the string of 2nd rounders who held out due to a mexican standoff between player agents and league owners. Initially it made sense that he would start camp behind the pack, but it is apparent to everyone 4th rounder Donte Thornton is seriously struggling to make a difference on the field, and Bech was drafted a whole 2 rounds before him for a reason. It took all of training camp and a month of losing football for Bech to finally get more snaps than Thornton, edging him out 36 snaps to Thorntons 32. He caught 3 of his 5 targets while Thornton was targeted twice and failed to log a reception in the Colts game.
Raheem Mostert temporarily left training camp for the birth of his child, and then left the team again during pre-season due to a medical issue regarding his newborn. Mostert's issues have always been health, but if he is 100% having Zamir White play over him was a crime against humanity. When Mostert plays 16 games he's a low end RB1 who averages around 5 yards a carry. Zamir White has ALWAYS been trash. If they legitimately saw White practice and said "This guy is better than Mostert" then it is time to start questioning football IQ. But it's really clear that this was just a punishment to prove a point.
Germaine Pratt is a loud mouth who lacks the emotional intelligence to lie to people. I'm sure he rubbed people the wrong way by putting them on blast for their poor efforts. This was known before we signed him. Pratt was far and away the best LB'er on this roster, and was being benched for Devin White when he asked for his release. Not a football move.
This is how you end up with a losing product. We're not training these guys to be boyscouts, they're supposed to win football games. In an attempt to "set the culture" Pete Carroll is rapidly losing the locker room. His grace period is over for me. There's a whole season left but it's on him to prove with the remaining 12 games that he still has it, otherwise with his age there really is no reason to continue this experiment.

McDaniels was allowed to sign his preferred QB and was rightly fired when Jimmy G (who was going to win 12 games for us according to Gannon) utterly failed.NoThanksSir wrote: Wed Oct 08, 2025 4:36 pm I wouldn't say the cupboard is bare, but they certainly inherited some baggage from past regimes that had to be taken out with the trash. Pete was allowed to trade for Geno. The experiment has been a historical disaster. He has 7 TDs and 10 INTs and four of those TDs were clear garbage time scores. It is time for Pete to pay the price.
I am no AP fan but he wasn't allowed to sign a QB of his liking. He was rightly fired for his cowardly punts and complete cluelessness.
Keeping lousy coaches for the sake of stability doesn't fix anything. We are in danger of the team looking slightly better (because the current results are so porous) that people are fooled into thinking progress is being made. 2025 is doomed. Let's not waste 2026.

I dont think anyone thought Geno would be as bad as he was, I was all in favor of it considering the lower cost value at the time. I was in favor of Pete and bringing in Chip as well. I was wrong on every intuition. The Real CK wrote: Mon Oct 20, 2025 8:17 pm McDaniels was allowed to sign his preferred QB and was rightly fired when Jimmy G (who was going to win 12 games for us according to Gannon) utterly failed.

Same boat though we can write an instruction manual on exposing game managers:rich72 wrote: Mon Oct 20, 2025 8:28 pm I dont think anyone thought Geno would be as bad as he was, I was all in favor of it considering the lower cost value at the time. Step 1: remove pass blocking
Step 2: remove running game
Step 3: remove receivers
Step 4: remove defence
Step 5: insert clueless playcaller
Now sit back and wait for results. Once you get to the point where your game manager effectively lives in obvious passing situations and 3rd and long… that’s when the magic really happens.
This isn’t meant to be a Geno apology post, he’s been terrible. But you knew going in the more you put on his plate the worse it’d go

Um...I did. Geno Smith has NEVER passed the eye test as a QB. He had one cute little good year, but other than that, he was always garbage. I was ridiculed for being a Darnold guy. Just go to the Geno Smith thread that i created.rich72 wrote: Mon Oct 20, 2025 8:28 pm I dont think anyone thought Geno would be as bad as he was, I was all in favor of it considering the lower cost value at the time. A few of us hated the move. I was one. We were just drowned out by the kool aid drinkers and the Twitter film experts telling us how Geno is a top 10 QB and how he throws a beautiful football. Personally, I thought he was the worst of the available options, preferred Darnold by a landslide.rich72 wrote: Mon Oct 20, 2025 8:28 pm I dont think anyone thought Geno would be as bad as he was, I was all in favor of it considering the lower cost value at the time. Anyways I think we can all agree on this. We could have prime Manning, Brady, Montana, Darnold, Carr (none of us want that), Luck or whoever you want. They'd all look like McGloin behind this line and whatever you want to call this offensive scheme
