Fire Patrick Graham
We have a fire Chip Kelly thread, why not fire PG? Our D sucks. We couldn't even stop them in the second half. Players are getting burnt. He hasn't really devolped anyone, we have zero pressure except for Maxx and he is being trippled teamed. Anyone else ready to move on?

His contract expired, he was a free agent. Carroll interviewed him, and hired him.Attyla wrote: Tue Nov 04, 2025 5:54 am I tend to agree that he is not a "Pete guy" in that while he retained him, he probably did not pick him. I think retaining him was more about continuity on the defensive side. He does not typically run the type of defense Pete is known for. I think, and I could be wrong, that they wanted to focus on the offense this year and deal with the defense down the road. And it could simply be Graham had another year or two on his deal and they did not want to pay out yet another empty contract? Just guessing on that part.
Graham was a 3-4 coach before he got here, I believe the Patriots were a 3-4 defense during McDaniels time there and Denver was a 3-4 defense during McDaniels 2 years as HC. I believe McDaniels wanted him to run the 3-4 here. That's when all the Maxx questions popped, oh is he going to be and OLB in the 3-4. Graham did say we would run the 4-3.
Pete's, well at least his Seattle defense, did not sub much at all on drives, but would rotate their DLine every drive. It was an interesting defense, it's like you know what we got, try to beat us. Also think, he likes 3-4 as well, because that edge guy is considered the LEO, Avril was the most well known of his LEOs up there, here he's trying to figure out if Koonce can be that here. The huge hard hitting box safety - Kam there, Jeremy Chinn here.

Graham has been trash for years, but this clown Carroll decided to keep him on. Our defense (especially secondary) is terrible

I’ve been calling for Graham to be fired for years! I can’t point to one player his def has coached up. When is the last time we were known for creating turnovers, 3rd down stop, tough to score against in the red zone?!?!?

Would it surprise anyone that if one of the biggest reasons Graham is still here is because Maxx wanted him to stay?

Carr looked pretty average on paper. There were no eye popping stats outside of maybe 4th quarter comebacks and passing yards. He never improved after the 2016 season and part of me believes that injury he sustained made him play a much more pussified brand of football. I wanted him to stay not bc he was great or anything, but because we could do much worse and we have ever since he left.Opoponax50 wrote: Tue Nov 04, 2025 7:50 am When it comes to paper stats, I always think of Carr. On paper he looked pretty damn good. On the field, well, we all know what happened there.
He's been here long enough for a fair evaluation and he's just not getting the job done. It's easy to say he needs better players, but the same can be said of every single coach on every team at every level. Good coaching doesn't require having pro bowlers in every group (DL, LB, DB), it means that you're able to get the guys you do have to play to their potential.
Graham isn't doing that.

He was already playing that pussified brand of football due to his brother's experience in Houston, where he was beat to a pulp. I remember just prior to the 2016 season, there was already murmurs about Carr being soft, chucking it down for stats, the opener in 2016, we played in New Orleans, that one play where he got flipped, it was like he was trying to prove something, a new Carr has been born. But yep end of that season, against Indy, he was never the same. Turfing it on 4th downs.....NoClapsPlease wrote: Tue Nov 04, 2025 1:08 pm Carr looked pretty average on paper. If he had stayed, we might have been able to draft a developmental QB to bring in and continue to go 8-9, 9-8.

The best rarely lead in comebacks because they win without having too. It should be a percentage number based on how many chances you’ve had. That would be a much more telling stat. Carr did have impressive yardage numbers between the 20s.NoClapsPlease wrote: Tue Nov 04, 2025 1:08 pm Carr looked pretty average on paper. Never a big fan of Graham's. I've repeatedly stated on other threads/forums that he is a 3-4 coach being asked to run a 4-3. He prefers big run stopping linemen instead of pass rushers. It would've been better to bring Gus Bradley back.

I didn’t know that; I thought Graham was kept on because he was still on a contract with the Raiders…
Thanks for the info

I'm primarily referring to his completion percentage and yardage, which always made him grade out higher than what his actual on the field performance was. For his last 3-4 years we average around 19-20 ppg, but PFF always had him ranked pretty high and the Carrstans always pointed to that.NoClapsPlease wrote: Tue Nov 04, 2025 1:08 pm Carr looked pretty average on paper. It also makes me vomit when outsiders look at his stats and say he was the best QB to ever play for the Raiders.

Carr’s been gone for three seasons now. Will some of you ever move on for crying out loud? Are you guys also stalking ex-girlfriends because you can’t let go? Weirdos.
