Fire Patrick Graham
We have a fire Chip Kelly thread, why not fire PG? Our D sucks. We couldn't even stop them in the second half. Players are getting burnt. He hasn't really devolped anyone, we have zero pressure except for Maxx and he is being trippled teamed. Anyone else ready to move on?

He probably gone after this season anyway as he was not Pete guy….cannot really fault PG for the defense; when maybe up to 6 or 7 starters left from last season…so the defense is going to be worse…

What you mean he wasn't Pete's guy? Pete retained him!SuperRaider wrote: Tue Nov 04, 2025 5:20 am He probably gone after this season anyway as he was not Pete guy….cannot really fault PG for the defense; when maybe up to 6 or 7 starters left from last season…so the defense is going to be worse…

Raiders were ranked 9th in 2023
19th in 2024
Those are facts, BoKnows
Your post is opinions - very irrelevant opinions
You lower the quality of discussion on here, honestly - because you don’t understand football outside of watching a QB drop back and either complete a pass or miss a pass. That’s the extent of your knowledge of the game and frankly I’m not interested.

I belive against the run we had a really good defense during the recent seasons. This year's meltdown is on Pete Carroll and his personal decisions.NoClapsPlease wrote: Tue Nov 04, 2025 5:34 am Raiders were ranked 9th in 2023

Patrick Graham is a good DC (did a very good job at the Giants), he is going to have a DC job anywhere in the league next year. Hating him is stupid.
We don't have coordinator problem, we have roster problem, starting with the QB.

I tend to agree that he is not a "Pete guy" in that while he retained him, he probably did not pick him. I think retaining him was more about continuity on the defensive side. He does not typically run the type of defense Pete is known for. I think, and I could be wrong, that they wanted to focus on the offense this year and deal with the defense down the road. And it could simply be Graham had another year or two on his deal and they did not want to pay out yet another empty contract? Just guessing on that part.

I’m sure the defense would have looked a little better if Wilkins didn’t botch his recovery. I’m pretty indifferent to Graham. He’s not a top DC but he’s far from the worst and I still have nightmares about the KNJ and Guenther. There are some really bad NFL defenses this season so you can do a lot worse than Graham. If the Raiders were to move on from him, it in no way guarantees that the defense improves under the next guy. It could get much worse and since Raiders fans can never have nice things, I imagine it will get worse under the next DC. It just seems everybody that joins the organization gets worse at their jobs.

In 1920 they actually make a silk like purse out of a sow's ear using a process that filtered the ear through a spinneret. However, we are probably mere years from recreating the chemical properties of silk using other materials such as a sow's ear.
Sorry, thought that was interesting.

In this instance I think his time has come and gone. He's had what, 3-4 years to integrate players into his system? Sorry, but that's more than enough time to have your guys executing well and not making third and long a great opportunity for the opposing offense.
It doesn't mean that he wouldn't do better with better players, but things just aren't working out. A good coach gets the most out of their players and even elevates them. Graham isn't doing that.
I don't want to see him let go now, but when the season's over, it's time to get some new blood in the building.

When it comes to paper stats, I always think of Carr. On paper he looked pretty damn good. On the field, well, we all know what happened there.
He's been here long enough for a fair evaluation and he's just not getting the job done. It's easy to say he needs better players, but the same can be said of every single coach on every team at every level. Good coaching doesn't require having pro bowlers in every group (DL, LB, DB), it means that you're able to get the guys you do have to play to their potential.
Graham isn't doing that.

We had a pretty good D a couple of years ago but the talent level has dropped significantly since. I think you’re right though, he’s going to be let go.Opoponax50 wrote: Tue Nov 04, 2025 7:43 am In this instance I think his time has come and gone. That's the part that bothers me about Patrick Graham. If you're defense can't hold on 3rd and 20, then what's the purpose of having you around?Opoponax50 wrote: Tue Nov 04, 2025 7:43 am In this instance I think his time has come and gone. I don't know what the actual data is, but I'm quite certain that the 10+ yards to gain given up percentage is extremely high.

Actually you are wrong. In 2024 we were third best in third and long and while this year there has been a drop off we are only bottom third.mranquales wrote: Tue Nov 04, 2025 8:34 am That's the part that bothers me about Patrick Graham. Graham's defense had one good stretch in 2023 against backup QBs and that fluke versus KC.
They blew massive leads in 2022, were awful in 2024, and are awful again.
He can leave with Depends at the end of the year.

That sad little troll NoClaps wasn't even worth responding to. He clearly doesn't watch the games with his eyes. The Real CK wrote: Tue Nov 04, 2025 9:04 am Graham's defense had one good stretch in 2023 against backup QBs and that fluke versus KC.
