Cignetti would be a friendly face for Mendoza as he develops. He knows Mendoza's strengths and can build an offense around them.
Hire Mike Shanahan to be the assistant OC.
A two man fold building an offense suited to FM.

I would be really excited with Webb as HC even though I realize he could be completely overmatched and it could be a dumpster fire. I would drink the koolaid all offseason.

His hiring would make Al proud. I would be down with him as well. We are going to have a very young team so why not a young coach as well. They can all grow together. Its not like we will be playing for a Super Bowl next season.chucker wrote: Wed Jan 07, 2026 8:20 am I would be really excited with Webb as HC even though I realize he could be completely overmatched and it could be a dumpster fire. Webb would at least be exciting. I'd be ok with it if the team decides he is the guy. I'd definitely be more excited if he is paired with a capable and experienced DC.

Part of the hiring process should be the belief that this Head Coach will be there for the next 10+ years. Cignetti is NOT that guy. Webb, Kubiak or Kingsbury.

It's probably too soon for him but if he absolutely aces the interviews and has a experienced dc hire maybe he can learn quickly and be ou mcvay. Does seem more likely he gets an oc job for a defensive minded head coach first.
Next year is a throwaway year regardless. I’m more than willing to give Webb a shot. If he’s talented, can relate to players, and scheme then by all means hire him

Right, we should be a top destination stop.
Hit it big and win, or cash out with great $$$/Time ratio.

Smarten up people, a lot of brainstorming, meetings, and analysis to come with our new GM and new owner/consultant . This is big bussiness.
The new setup might get things turned around. We have hope, but most will be skeptical until it happens which is fine and expected.
Webb is likely being brought in for possible OC potential and to run it by head coach candidates. Or just get a sense of what he is and he will probably be interviewed by many teams for years to come, he's not getting a head coach job now. Teams always picking brains to keep an eye on who's coming up the ranks... smart business.
He’s got a similar reputation as McVay, Broncos fans are fuming at the idea of him leaving for us.
Is it too early, probably. But it’s better to be early than late. Especially in a cycle that lacks any elite level offensive candidates.

If Webb gets hired as an oc anywhere (even with us (and has a good year) he will be a head coach the following year

chucker wrote: Wed Jan 07, 2026 7:14 am You can't just look at Webb's resume as an official coach. You also have to look at his history as a player, because the backup QB ideally does a lot more than get ready to play in case of injury. He was in Buffalo as backup through Josh Allen's ascendance from scattergun to elite. Webb was with the Bills for 3 seasons but never threw a pass - probably because they didn't really want him to play in games and just valued his work off the field.
Buffalo reportedly wanted to hire Webb as QB coach but when Daboll was hired in NY, they immediately signed Webb as a backup and he was there for one season - the very good season that got Daniel Jones paid. Then he moved on to Denver as a coach where it seems he's a highly valued part of the staff.
As a freshmen in college he used to come up with plays and discuss them with the HC. The HC was Kingsbury.
