While I appreciate that no stone will be left unturned, I personally am less interested in candidates like Webb. Valuable interview for sure, but position coach -> HC is a massive jump. It's not a 1-1 comparison to Sean McVay, who had been OC for the Redskins before becoming the Rams HC.

Kubiak, or Mike LaFleur seem like far safer options if you want to go the young offensive mind route.

Why is that? He currently is a QB coach. No one knows if he will be the next McVay. There has been a lot of next McVays who have ended up next in the unemployment line. We can bring in a coach and hire him as an OC. If the head coach doesn't work out, you can move him on up if you need to. Payton calls the plays, Lombardi is entrenched at OC. He isn't going to be an OC anytime soon for them and has zero experience in play calling. McVay himself was an OC for 3 years before becoming a head coach.

Do we dip into the Seahawks pool twice in a row? I think they might not want to do that

I’d rather take a swing at an unknown, possibly high reward pick for HC than another retread. At minimum can’t hurt to look.

It's hilarious how stupid fans are, this kind of thinking is just absurd. You read a tweet and think he's the right NFL head coach, yet he's never even been a Coordinator or called plays.

Smarten up people, a lot of brainstorming, meetings, and analysis to come with our new GM and new owner/consultant . This is big bussiness.

The new setup might get things turned around. We have hope, but most will be skeptical until it happens which is fine and expected.

Webb is likely being brought in for possible OC potential and to run it by head coach candidates. Or just get a sense of what he is and he will probably be interviewed by many teams for years to come, he's not getting a head coach job now. Teams always picking brains to keep an eye on who's coming up the ranks... smart business.

Yes but McVay had been an NFL coach for almost 10 years at that point. Webb has been a coach for 3 seasons. The argument would be that a good backup QB has a coaching role - a good backup QB is actually your best QB coach.

I like that we're not going all traditional on our coaching search though. Don't be afraid to be outside the box. Webb could end up being a home run. They also might interview him and decide he's not ready - there's a lot more to being a head coach than x's and o's.

Jesus Christ, this is mentioned one page ago.

In the 2025 preseason, Broncos quarterbacks coach and offensive pass game coordinator Davis Webb called the offensive plays in a preseason game against the Arizona Cardinals. This marked his first time calling plays in an NFL game — and the Broncos’ offense scored on four of its first five drives under his play-calling.

I have no idea who is getting hired, I just hope whoever it is is a success. But let’s all try to make comments about these prospective coaches with information based on facts rather than personal opinion or pure bullshit.

Spytek and Brady may be thinking Kubiak head coach, Davis Webb OC and passing game coordinator.

Kinda where I’m at.

To add? It’s clear what we have been doing for decades isn’t working. And if it turns out he is the guy?

I don't mind the idea of having some information on potential coordinators once you're through the head coach process, but I thought most people were onside with the concept that the head coach should make his own coordinator decisions.
