Raiders Visit NJ to Take On the Jets - Game Day Thread
Weather is supposed to be pleasant, with the temperature at 62 degrees with lots of sun.
Spread is Raiders -1.5 and the over/under is 45.5
On tap today, it is really finally chili weather with crusty bread and I will be making a dirty chai martini batch for the wife and I to enjoy
Enjoy the games on tap today fellas

I have always heard that Al's Big Burger in SF was the bomb.Xramfan wrote: Sun Nov 01, 2026 2:46 pm In and Out better than the traditional fast food chains easily but I wouldn’t drive 100 miles out of my way for it. But it is decent quality, much better than average service (here in Ca anyway) Employees almost always very polite and clean cut.
5 Guys is pretty good but it really depends on the fry cook if you get a perfect burger. My experience at 5 Guys differs depending on which one I go.

I live in the east bay but I haven’t heard of it. Probably the best burger I’ve had in fairly recent memory was a 5 Guys in Novato. Two gentlemen in their 60’s or 70’s tending the grill and it was so juicy it melted in my mouth. That hasn’t been duplicated by any other 5 Guys I’ve tried from Nevada to the Bay Area lol. Usually overcooked and on the dry side.Reno Hightower wrote: Sun Nov 01, 2026 2:50 pm I have always heard that Al's Big Burger in SF was the bomb.

as a burger place its good, prices are very good but my go to is "THE HAT" LOVE ME SOME PASTRAMI AND CHILI FRIES"mranquales wrote: Sun Nov 01, 2026 2:23 pm I'm in Cali it's hype. It's OK nothing special. It's an old restaurant with a small menu so it has that mom and pop feel. Happy Days Diner was way better before it closed down.

I am not sure if they have ever franchised out but Dicks Burgers in both Seattle and Spokane have a pretty good no frills burger at a reasonable price. It wasn't uncommon to see Bill Gates in line for a burger at the Seattle location.

White House? You mean White Castle?haji81872 wrote: Sun Nov 01, 2026 4:12 pm White House set the standard for over hyped burgers. Everything else pales in comparison. I wouldnt cross the street for a dozen of those for free.

Hype. Best hamburgers I ever have are from Mom’n’Pop places that have at the most 3 stores born in the 70’s, and the very best come from a backyard of course.Hellbound wrote: Sun Nov 01, 2026 2:03 pm From someone that doesn't have an In& Out anywhere near them, are they really all that? Or just hype?

Don’t know how far it is from ya, but Hayward (I think) has a joint called “Val’s Burgers”. Fuckin’ excellent.Xramfan wrote: Sun Nov 01, 2026 3:03 pm I live in the east bay but I haven’t heard of it. Edit: Just looked it up on Yelp. Looks like no dine-in anymore. May be on the edge of closing down. That’s a shame.

I suppose in n out is better than mcdonalds but local places are so much better. Outside of an occasional happy meal for the kids we dont eat any fast food or chain restaurants.
Edit or road trips thats the one time we will get fast food

In & Out in the 70s and 80s was awesome, but like most fast food the quality has dropped.
Looks to me like a lot of you never really experienced it
Tommy's is the same, phenomenal back then but I wouldn't recommend it now
