Klint Kubiak - Officially Head Coach
Figured it is best to start a new official thread around Kubiak being our HC as the other one was built up so much around the search. His introduction presser is at 11 PST today.

mcvay, shanahan, kubiak want smart, accurate qbs that can excel in their precision systems, not freaks that can't throw straightGoodTimeCharlie wrote: Thu Oct 08, 2026 9:39 pm I can’t imagine Coach K would have an interest in any of them. I mean Shanahan (9’ers) had every reason in the world to make it work and Trey just never got it. Coach K’s scheme has more similarity to Shanahan’s than any other offense in the league.
As to the others, I think they should watch a whole lotta tape on Terrelle Pryor’s transition from QB to WR if they want any chance of remaining in the NFL.

I bring up Shanahan, as him and Coach K both adhere to a Zone-run, West Coast passing system. Shanahan more Outside Zone, Coach more Wide Zone. Never-the-less, they are similar enough in schemes that if Trey Lance failed with Shanahan and the 9’ers who traded three 1st’s and a 3rd to move up and get him, there’s no way Coach and the Raiders would ever imagine him being worth bringing in.islandboy wrote: Fri Oct 09, 2026 6:33 am Looking at Kyle’s history as HC and an assistant coach, he does not have the same history as a QB whisperer as Klint. The exception would be his current QB, Mr Purdy.

im pretty sure shanahan had no say so on the trey lance pick...the meathead in charge (gm lynch) has been horrible in the draft for the niners in recent yrs, every yr i look at the niners draft im scratching my head and then watching the players bustGoodTimeCharlie wrote: Fri Oct 09, 2026 7:29 am I bring up Shanahan, as him and Coach K both adhere to a Zone-run, West Coast passing system. The point of my post is if I am Trey Lance, ARichardson or a Joe Milton and I truly want to be an NFL starter and I and dedicated to learning I ask/beg to be a backup on Klint’s team knowing I will be work behind Kirk as long as he is the starter and know that FM is the heir apparent. Then dedicate 2 seasons to learn.mstrbass2000 wrote: Fri Oct 09, 2026 7:36 am im pretty sure shanahan had no say so on the trey lance pick...the meathead in charge (gm lynch) has been horrible in the draft for the niners in recent yrs, every yr i look at the niners draft im scratching my head and then watching the players bust
If I am one of them and my goal is to learn and improve I make that call to Klint and Spy during this offseason.
Mac Jones could be in this group too.
