Post Game thread - no moral victories, But…

Post by Willmark »

Don’t believe in moral victories but the Raiders fought till the end.

In years past this team would have folded. It wasn’t perfect, it wasn’t mistake free but we just proved we can go toe to toe with the Chiefs this year.

I agree with the return game, but much more so on kickoff returns. I think we all are varying degrees of distrustful of Laube, but outside of that fumble he’s looked pretty damn good and has helped us have excellent field position on occasion. He could be upgraded, but it’s not the horror show that kickoff returns are proving to be.

Mahomes was 15/30… he didn’t look elite tonight.

Worthy won some matchups and walker wore us out.

Adjust
But he also hit some plays downfield & Rob Leonard had to respect that. It’s why I’m adamant about Fernando. We need to be able to hit those chunk plays 15-20 yards downfield & it will open up the running game a little more.

Special Teams coach needs to be FIRED if he can't teach these morons to just let the damn ball go or GO DOWN instead of fighting for yards with the ball hanging out
You can always try to go back to the Saints to ease your pain...........Oh wait.....lmao

I’ve always liked CousIns but we have a 20 year sample of his career.

Only thing Cousins has over Fernando is the experience but Fernando can only get that in one way.

I’d rather be 8-9 with Fernando than 10-7 w/Cousins for a 1 & done playoff appearance.
f[raiders_icon]ck that. Give me the playoff appearance. This team has been ass for so long it'd be nice to see them in post season football regardless of who the qb is

Not happy losing but we competed with a super bowl contender. We are 4 games in to the Kubiak regime. We are only going to get better. We can compete with anyone. Mendoza will be better than Cousins and we haven't even seen that yet.

Kubiak is also a rookie...... he made rookie mistakes today. Even so, we could have just as easily won this game in spite of those mistakes. He will learn from this game. Sometimes, the greatest achievements come from failure and learning from it.

This team is going to out perform our expectations for this season, IMO. KC isn't going undefeated either.
Yep team finally has a legit coaching staff just doesn't have the roster to be a great team or win when making mistakes...We have a noodle armed QB,a weak WR room and an O-line struggling to open holes for the run game...Also some young guys throughout the roster and we're only 4 games in sitting at 3-1.....First time things seem to be legitimately looking positive since 2002.....Losing to a division rival sucks but we are just getting started on this major overhaul........It just seems like it's the 5th year because we've been rebuilding forever...I think this time they may have finally gotten it right.

I'm assuming most here realize ok we can actually be a good team this year, it's on. So next week is a big one to rebound on to still have a great record. Lose that and now were working towards that .500 clip.

We were competitive today.

Think we got it right also on both sides of the ball. Kubiak is the real deal. He just needs to he able to pick his players for his offense. And Rob Leonard may be what this D needed. Game was closer than what the score showed. Need to be better with run D but Mahomes was contained today and not able to do his usual scrambling. Loved it.

I don’t think the Texans/Chargers are as bad as their 0-4 records & then IDK if the Giants are a legit team either.

But the NFL is all topsy/turvy now. Washington beats down Seattle last week then takes it on the chin by Indianapolis.

Hope we can keep contending

I think we will be consistent. I think we can beat any team. Believe we can beat the pats. This just not seem like the Raiders of old and it feels good.

100% this. Again this was legitimately the worst team in the league last year. And now we’re 3-1 talking about a 4th down call because we lost to the chiefs by 3. Does no one else see this and think “where the f[raiders_icon]ck did this team come from?”

Assuming the wheels don’t fall off, if we keep playing like this we’re going to beat a lot of teams and honestly, it’s not a stretch to say we look like a playoff team. If that’s not a testament to Kubiak being the f[raiders_icon]cking man I don’t know what else there is.

Kubiak from the beginning of his tenure has stressed the run game. It's the only way to go unless it's inconsistent. Too many first and second down runs for little or no yardage especially trying to run wide leaving third and long. This happened a lot and KC knew what was coming and turned up the heat. We need to go to an up tempo, pass first offense. The running game will come --hopefully. it cost us today.
