Stock plays for 2026
Thought I'd throw this out there for anyone who enjoys playing the stock market.
I'm working on taking a position on a company called Archer Aviation. (ARCH)
Electric plane start up with plans for taxis service and sales. The Dolphin owner is a big fan and is setting up a taxis service from his Country club to the Stadium for example.
Sales will be going to the Mideast as well.
Some FAA approvals in the works.
Defense contracts too.

Is George Jetson not far behind.

The underlying problem is the inability to defer gratification. I, like probably most here are children of people who were children during the great depression. I remember what my mother told me. When you want to buy something, think about it 10 times first. Then dont buy it.Xramfan wrote: Fri Sep 11, 2026 4:34 pm Good for him. Generally speaking, wealth building is done slowly and intelligently. Many years ago I looked through a book called “Millionaire next door”. Dry, very dry reading but the point stands today.
Too many people, much like our government, have a spending problem, not necessarily a revenue problem.

My father died when I was young and had only 10k in insurance. I guess in 1966 that was decent. My mom lost the house in a year after spending most on the money on the funeral. That taught me to be frugal in some areas and to be a saver. Its really paid off over time.Cruisin with Tooz wrote: Fri Sep 18, 2026 12:47 am The underlying problem is the inability to defer gratification. He's right about those funds, anything that basically covers the whole S&P market is smart. But its for a long term play. If you dont need the money for 10 years or more its fine. At my age 3/4 of my money is in safe areas and 25% is individual risky high return plays.
I used to be in small index funds but being in retirement I don't want to take the risk. I think the current market is primed for a 20-30% correction. If it where to drop I might then play these type of funds.
Now if ARCH could pop, daddy gets a new Corvette...
