Stock plays for 2026
Thought I'd throw this out there for anyone who enjoys playing the stock market.
I'm working on taking a position on a company called Archer Aviation. (ARCH)
Electric plane start up with plans for taxis service and sales. The Dolphin owner is a big fan and is setting up a taxis service from his Country club to the Stadium for example.
Sales will be going to the Mideast as well.
Some FAA approvals in the works.
Defense contracts too.

Is George Jetson not far behind.

The tighter you hold on to your money the more likely it will slip between your fingers.Sold My Soul wrote: Tue Sep 08, 2026 9:01 pm LMAO....I don't take time off when it means looking after the half mil I worked my ass off all my life to accumulate when some unwell people in power want to f[raiders_icon]ck with it.
You might want to take it more serious if you have any to lose.

is your annuity tied to the sp500 or markets ??? or is it straight fixed interest ??? your house has obviously gone up in value over the yrs...cd's r fixed, so no exposure to marketsSold My Soul wrote: Tue Sep 08, 2026 9:36 pm I'm seriously considering selling my house in Omaha for another 250 grand and getting an apartment in the Black Hills.....Nebraska will tax you to death. 5,000 a year on a 250,000 house.
house i would look to get out and buy to replace with equivalent condo or townhouse and pocket the rest, im nearing 70 and dumped all of my properties especially apt buildings, even sold my business a few yrs ago, now all im left with is a big house in the south where taxes r low and i have a small house in cali that i visit 49% of the time (tax purposes and too much equity to sell now) im in the markets buy individual stocks, crypto, the rest is invested in div paying stocks, corporate bonds and state and federal tax free bonds. im very secure and looking very forward to to next yrs in america...whatever happens im ready (lots of cash) if the markets crash im fine and will throw al remaining cash intot he market, in the history of the stock market every crash has been a boon for investors

One thing investors want is stability. We have none of that. One medical emergency can wipe you out. If the correction of 40% happens in the market as a lot of Capital CEO's are predicting that stack gets wiped out fast. And with inflation on the rise retirees are getting squeezed at both ends..Xramfan wrote: Wed Sep 09, 2026 5:49 am The tighter you hold on to your money the more likely it will slip between your fingers.
If you aren't worried about your future, you sir are one of the few.

Why be worried over something out of my control? Seriously.....The older I get the more I realize I "need" so little. It is actually comforting.Sold My Soul wrote: Wed Sep 09, 2026 6:55 pm

Yes I have assets all over the place but if something catastrophic happens that wipes me out, the world as a whole is in deep shit and money is likely useless for the time being lol.
I'm too old to worry. Our time on this marble is minuscule compared to eternity.

I feel the same regarding my family but as of right now they will be fine so I’m not going to waste time worrying about things not happening and out of my control.mstrbass2000 wrote: Thu Sep 10, 2026 11:19 am i dont worry, most of my life has been good, never struggled and had success as a investor and business owner...why i care is leaving my family in good shape if anything bad happens to me

You sound a lot like my brother. He never had a high paying job, but he lived frugally and invested every bit of money he saved. He's got over 750K in his portfolio, which is amazing considering what he earned. Most people in the country dont even have enough to handle a $500 contingency. Good for you!!!Sold My Soul wrote: Tue Sep 08, 2026 9:30 pm I am retired. I'm 70 bra....Old school as they come....Invested my money in the market all my life. Never needed the newest and best. Had a job for 35 years that provided me with a car. Last car I ever bought was a used 2011 Chevy Malibu in 2012. Still have it in pristine condition with 81,000 miles.
Fortunately I have an Annuity that will mature in 2027....A 12 CD that come expire in November, life insurance policy that matured at the age of 65 where I no longer have to pay premiums and can surrender for a 20 grand.
I am as diversified as I can be......What is happening to the American people is f[raiders_icon]cked up.

Good for him. Generally speaking, wealth building is done slowly and intelligently. Many years ago I looked through a book called “Millionaire next door”. Dry, very dry reading but the point stands today.Cruisin with Tooz wrote: Thu Sep 10, 2026 10:20 pm You sound a lot like my brother. Too many people, much like our government, have a spending problem, not necessarily a revenue problem.

too many people are too lazy to learn how the markets work and then take charge and make their money grow along with others for financial freedom...ive been reading and learning about the markets (stocks, bonds, futures) since i was 18 yrs old ...if you not earning 7% a yr on your money, your wasting time (taxes, inflation)Xramfan wrote: Fri Sep 11, 2026 4:34 pm Good for him. Back in the Biden years, you needed to bring in about 20% just to tread water…mstrbass2000 wrote: Fri Sep 11, 2026 4:42 pm too many people are too lazy to learn how the markets work and then take charge and make their money grow along with others for financial freedom...ive been reading and learning about the markets (stocks, bonds, futures) since i was 18 yrs old ...if you not earning 7% a yr on your money, your wasting time (taxes, inflation)
