Around the NFL
No clue where to post some stuff not necessarily team related but could be? Feel free to delete if this belongs somewhere else.
Maxx and Parsons would be nasty. I probably wouldn’t pay the price though.

There are two types of people: those who know Zeppelin is the greatest band ever and those who are wrong.Dr Death wrote: Sun Jun 07, 2026 2:08 pm Okay, so....................... IMO, Zeppelin was the greatest band that ever was...so far. I get the Beatles, Stones, Who, Pink Floyd, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, etc.... but for me.... no one comes close to Zeppelin. Some agree... some don't. It's all good.![]()

I remember clearly the big scandal when Garvey was caught cheating on his wife and it was major news when he and Cyndy divorced. He disappointed a ton of fans. Culture was a bit different in the 80`s.

I really don't remember much about that. I remember Popeye arms was a big bat in their lineup and then he was a Padre.Xramfan wrote: Thu Jun 11, 2026 9:12 am I remember clearly the big scandal when Garvey was caught cheating on his wife and it was major news when he and Cyndy divorced. Seriously, I mean I know that Joe was the first one who's got a 100K contract, he just was not the first guy to earn 100K as a pure salary.

I do not dislike Zep but they never completely "wowed" me. As a drummer nerd I have nothing but praise for Bonham as he literally walked to a different beat separating himself from so many drummers in his style or lack thereof.

Yeah, Bonzo inspired a ton of drummers...Page was OK but not my fav...JPJ was multi-talented...Plant was probably the easiest to replace out of the 4.Xramfan wrote: Thu Jun 11, 2026 10:23 am I do not dislike Zep but they never completely "wowed" me. But when Bonham died, it broke the heart of the band.

I have become a big fan of Led Zeppelin the last 20 years or so. Sadly, I passed on seeing them live at the Fillmore or Winterland 1969-72 (I never attended a Day on the Green at the Coliseum -- too big of crowds with drunk girls on their boyfriends' shoulders for me). I appreciated the writing and arranging of Jimmy Page a lot more once I started seeing the tribute band - Get the Led Out. Seeing Zep's music live is another experience altogether; the impact is huge. On the original band -- Page: he was sloppy but a brilliant creator of riffs; Plant: I have grown to very much like his vocals; Bonham: I liked Moon more (saw Keith live in 1968 and never saw Bonham live) but he is obviously a great dummer. JPJ: boring on stage but a big contributor to the sound. I know they have been accused of stealing their songs from classic blues artists. That doesn't bother me as almost every band did. Long Live the Zeppelin!

Obviously, Stairway To Heaven is their signature song and Whole Lotta Love is the song that got me hooked when I was a teen (the panning with headphones on)...but for me, my fav LZ tune is Over The Hills And Far Away.RunOverByHubbard wrote: Thu Jun 11, 2026 11:34 am I have become a big fan of Led Zeppelin the last 20 years or so.
