Around the NFL
No clue where to post some stuff not necessarily team related but could be? Feel free to delete if this belongs somewhere else.
Maxx and Parsons would be nasty. I probably wouldn’t pay the price though.

There's an all girls tribute band, Zepperella. Pretty good too.

Okay, so....................... IMO, Zeppelin was the greatest band that ever was...so far. I get the Beatles, Stones, Who, Pink Floyd, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, etc.... but for me.... no one comes close to Zeppelin. Some agree... some don't. It's all good.

You definitely have the words tribute and parody confused. In absolutely no way was Dread ZEppelin a tribute bandCruisin with Tooz wrote: Sun Jun 07, 2026 12:09 pm You dont like the original, but do like the tribute band?

I worked at the Charles Hotel in Cambridge MA in the early 90s and Plant and Paige (and their families) stayed there when they were touring together, super nice guys.Dr Death wrote: Sun Jun 07, 2026 2:08 pm Okay, so....................... A bit off topic but I shared a blackjack table with Tom Petty once. Cracked me up. This was after his small role in the Costner movie "The Postman." I told him that I knew who he was, he was famous. Without missing a beat he replied, yeah dude. I was, not anymore...AdamJoshua28 wrote: Sun Jun 07, 2026 3:51 pm I worked at the Charles Hotel in Cambridge MA in the early 90s and Plant and Paige (and their families) stayed there when they were touring together, super nice guys.

He was performing at the Gorge. One of my favorite artists of all time. Sucked that he passed at such a young age.

I think they opened up with Enter Sandman and were a solo act. I guess this would be in 91

Random encounters are always fun in a way. I was driving for a company one time and was told I needed to go to the airport to pick up a "celebrity". Turns out it was Paula Abdul. Biggest bitch I ever met. Couldn't get her out of the car fast enough. On the flip side I walked into a burger King in high school and ran into the wrestler Sting. Nicest guy ever. We sat at the same table and talked and he left tickets for me to go to the wrestling matches at my workToast wrote: Sun Jun 07, 2026 6:34 pm A bit off topic but I shared a blackjack table with Tom Petty once. Likely not a sad day for him... though.
He retires with "career" earnings of (raked in) approximately 5.9 million after being the 171st selection (5th round) in the 2017 draft and being on 3 different teams for a total of 6 whole seasons. Out of those 6 seasons he appeared in 15 games with 5 starts and a 1-4 QB record.
160 attempts
85 completions
712 yards passing
53.1 completion percentage
4 TD
13 INT
Oddly enough, his best "career" numbers were the 2 seasons he was with us. Gruden working his magic (eye roll).
I only note this because I speculate that this can be possible for some if you show up with a good attitude, work hard and at a minimum know the playbook. However, as slick as Peterman was pocketing 5.9 million in just 6 years worth of "work" these are amateur numbers compared to one of my favorite players of all time in the league... Chase Daniel. He went undrafted in the 2009 draft but wormed his way onto the saints roster in 2010. He managed to use his powers of prestidigitation on 6 teams over the course of 14 seasons leaving after appearing in 74 games and starting in 5. His career record was 2-3.
273 attempts
183 completions
1746 yards passing
68.1 completion percentage*
9 TD
7 INT
*boosted by appearing in 4 separate games and throwing and completing 1 pass for 1 completion for a 100% rate in each of those games.
"Career" earnings
43.1 million.
Roughly, 165,142 per pass attempt, 242,147 per completion. He notably signed a 3 year deal with the eagles for 21 million and a 2 year 10 million dollar deal with the bears. I can still remember back after him stinking up the league for 7 years how was this guy on an NFL roster? Every year after that I kept thinking there is no way this guy is going to STILL be in the league? He lasted another 7 seasons. Guy is a genius.
Now one of the biggest nobody's to ever wear a uniform in the game has two roles with ESPN, a podcast with Vrabel's old fling and his own youtube channel with over a 100k subscribers. He's taking donations if anyone is interested...
