Cousins signs with Raiders
I don't love this. I get it, but I don't love it.

But last was last year, right?! Just blowing you shit from your own quoteBoKnows81 wrote: Sun Apr 05, 2026 12:57 pm Doc, let me save you from making the same mistake again. Watch Kirk Cousins last year. He was awful. We dont need a bridge QB but we esp dont need him as one. Backup? Ehh, sure, but only bc he's an upgrade over AO12.

It's not even a fair comparison. Last year was last year regarding the O line for legit reasons such as coaching and injuries. Kirk Cousins has been on the decline. Not even close.Hellbound wrote: Mon Apr 06, 2026 3:59 am But last was last year, right?! Just blowing you shit from your own quote

Maybe we should do a poll:
Should this thread be locked until after day one of the draft, then reopened for a day, then locked again until the day of the first preseason game.

Contact powskiCousins started his 2025 season poorly and had an Achilles injury in 2024. Recovering and not fully his usual self. He threw 7 tds and 2 int in the final 4 games and averaged 220 yards/game. Atlanta went 4-0.
Im not a big Cousins fan but I also dont think hes washed up. Familiarity with Kubiak, supposedly legendary in his preparation, Penix sounds like he genuinely liked him and his help.
We get him for the league minimum this year and then owe 10 mil next year when we free up 55 mil dead money.
It looks good on paper, to me at least.
I really hope Mendoza clearly passes him before the season starts, but if not im not overly stressed that it wont happen during the season.
Besides the 2 QBs, how they feel about the OL is the other big factor.- These users gave a High Five to the author powski for the post (total 2):

Bottom line is our Qb room is better, much better. Mendoza is our hope at a franchise guy, and Cousins cannot only show him but also Aiden how to go about day to day being nfl ready. I would say Aiden even adds a little something as he’s been around a minute now, but he has little if anything left for upside growth. If anything, we legitimately have some guys to compete and the hope is make each other better. Been a long time since we’ve had a Qb room this good.

I will never get over the Immaculate Reception and is the reason I will forever hate the Steelers. My dad took me to that game as he had a brother who lived nearby that we stayed with.Toast wrote: Sun Apr 05, 2026 8:45 pm LMAO-It's a Raider Nation tradition. The Immaculate Reception and Tuck Rule dead horses are so fossilized that they need carbon 14 dating.

Aside from Franco's reception, the thing I remember most about that game was that we were getting shut out in the 4th quarter and Lamonica was replaced at QB by a young Ken Stabler who ran 30 yards for a TD and the go ahead score...then on the Steelers' final drive on 4th down Tatum smacked the shit outta Fuqua on that infamous pass...I thought the game was over...I was wrong.Viper wrote: Mon Apr 06, 2026 6:19 am I will never get over the Immaculate Reception and is the reason I will forever hate the Steelers. I never understood the hatred for teams like Pittsburgh and New England. All they did was play ball to the end of the whistle and caught a break. Whether by their play or by the officials. The Raiders probably lead the league in those type of plays. Now I can get behind hating Baltimore and Siracusa for doing a belly flop on Gannon.

It was the rivalry. Some was created by the old man, but some was just how they played us and vice versa. I don't really hate that team now, but the old sense of rivalry exists today. But they were fun games because every down seemed to be on the edge of all out war.RickRyb wrote: Mon Apr 06, 2026 7:39 am I never understood the hatred for teams like Pittsburgh and New England. I am still a big fan of Fleetwood Mac when Peter Green was at the lead. This is Green with John Mayall a year before he formed Fleetwood Mac - an absolute virtuoso already. McVie and Fleetwood rhythm section BTW:

My money is that Aiden gets traded before or during the draft for a 4th or 5th round pick (or backup safety). It frees up a little cap space and we draft a QB in the 5th like the kid from Arkansas to be 3rd QB. I don't see a reason to run AOC out there to go 6-11 ot 7-10, Just tank if both Cousins and Nando go down and get a high draft pick again. Maybe the late QB we draft does well and surprises like Purdy.Viper wrote: Mon Apr 06, 2026 6:16 am Bottom line is our Qb room is better, much better.
