2026 Draft - Raiders & all teams (April 23-25)
Obvious Mendoza #1 no consideration of trading that pick.
But who you got picks 2 - 4 thats going to help Mendoza.
#2 Raiders should be able to select WR Chris Bell or WR KC Concepcion with our early 2nd.
#3 I forget who it was, but someone here mentioned that the best pure dominant RT coming out of college could be got in the 3rd. And stated hes played his whole career at RT, and not being moved around the line.
Sounds like solid gets
Id hope the rest of the draft is building the trenches, with maybe 1 DB in there
Who else you like ?

Why? That's exactly what we did last year with Grant in the 3rd round. He should be groomed for LT.WNYRAIDER wrote: Sun Mar 22, 2026 4:31 am .....I know that right tackle seems the bigger uncertainty at the moment, but Miller is increasingly less likely to get through a season at left tackle, and we are at the point where drafting his potential replacement has to be a thought. ...even if it is a guy with all of the tools, but' is raw',for whatever reason, whether having outgrown TE or whatever, and we take a shot at him not with our highest picks, but perhaps with one of those 4th rounders....

Have to say, I love this draft.
I LOVE trading down and still getting Pregnon (BPA and position of need). I would be happy just getting him at 36.

You just described a guy who was never going to get any real playing time as a rookie and needs developing. Yet we drafted that guy last year in Grant and now, after a year of development time when he was never expected to contribute, you seem to have forgotten that he needed to develop.WNYRAIDER wrote: Sun Mar 22, 2026 4:31 am .....I know that right tackle seems the bigger uncertainty at the moment, but Miller is increasingly less likely to get through a season at left tackle, and we are at the point where drafting his potential replacement has to be a thought. ...even if it is a guy with all of the tools, but' is raw',for whatever reason, whether having outgrown TE or whatever, and we take a shot at him not with our highest picks, but perhaps with one of those 4th rounders....
It's almost like Spytek knew what he was doing last year when he drafted Grant and Rogers.
We need to draft olinemen every year, but we need to let them develop and not forget about them. We're a better constructed team now because we drafted Grant and Rogers last year.

Without being in the building, and just assessing this as an “on paper” situation, my ideal solution for the OL is:
Draft Blake Miller at 36 to start immediately at RT.
Start Kolton at LT, and continue to develop Charles Grant to be the LT of the future.
Aside from Kolton, the rest of the line is young, so if Grant is the real deal, we won’t have to worry about OL for a little while.
If Grant isn’t good, we will still have to draft a LT at some point, but the rest of the OL will be complete.

i agree on oline, every draft you gotta take a few of em, oline guys need to develop and improve over a yr or 2 before they shine this is also a position that needs to stay fresh and have quality depthchucker wrote: Sun Mar 22, 2026 6:12 am You just described a guy who was never going to get any real playing time as a rookie and needs developing. There is no such thing as drafting too many linemen.

....yeah, I forget sometimes that we liked these guys when we picked them, and then they sort of seem out of sight, out of mind, due to the last regime being what they were....
...and to be honest, I have never seen as few of our games as I did last year, due to various net challenges...

We may not be able to gauge the progress but I am pretty confident the strategy was to draft a high upside talent to developWNYRAIDER wrote: Sun Mar 22, 2026 9:59 am ... maybe, it is hard sometimes to remember how little we know about some of those guys we recently drafted, and many of us likes the picks when taken, due to Pete not playing them, and his kid being a.....

I would prioritize a guard if all things are equal. LT will need consideration at some point, but we do have Miller. I know he got dinged up the last couple years, but past performance is not a guarantee of future results.
Bottom line, we need to let the draft come to us and not force the draft. It is like saying we need to draft a developmental QB somewhere in the draft and that is absolutely false. We need to draft players who are the best option each time we are up. Teams that focus on a position over the best player are going to suffer each and every year.

Grant should get every chance at the job. I am more concerned with getting our run game going so a road grader guard would be a great idea in the second round. You and I both know that Mendoza is at his best when his run game is successful.

Oh I'm completely fine with a guard as you said. I was genuinely curious who you wanted to start at RT. I like Grant and i think he should be Kolton's successor but I don't think he ever played right tackle. I'd personally rather draft a legit right tackle bc there's more uncertainty there at the moment then guard.Attyla wrote: Sun Mar 22, 2026 10:37 am Grant should get every chance at the job. Yep, I am mostly worried about our run game. Mendoza has some great short pass options which will help his development, but Jeanty really needs to have holes opened for him so it takes the pressure off the pass game. I think Mendoza, with Jeanty and Bowers will keep defenses honest, but I want larger holes up the middle so Jeanty is not getting hit at the line of scrimmage. I don't know if Grant can play RT but I think he can make the move based on what little we have seen from him.BoKnows81 wrote: Sun Mar 22, 2026 10:44 am Oh I'm completely fine with a guard as you said.
