Free Agency thread for Raiders and league-wide
Free agency opens March 11. CBS Sports has their top 50 ranking. No Raiders on the list. I am surprised at a couple rated high - Aaron Rodgers and Daniel Jones. Lots of wide receivers

Really like FA overall so far. Got players I really liked. Missed out on some I may have wanted a bit more but, maybe they didn’t choose the Raiders. Like Lloyd at 15mil per is definitely better than Walker at 13per. I love getting Dean too.
Tonga was one of my main targets &, my top DT to get. Too bad he went to the damn Chiefs. Raiders really need to get 2 starting caliber DTs tho. 2 because they rotate in & out a lot. & then still draft 1 or 2 in the draft…early.
CB James Pierre was a crazy good signing at only 4.5 mil per. Wish Raiders added him.
I think the only one I’ve disliked, is Nailor. He’s meh & 12per is bad. CB J.Dean at the same price would have been a greater get. By far. Even tho he misses games.
I think adding another LB would be smart. Chenal or W.Gay would be good. Chenal can play inside or the outside blitzing edge as a LB in the 3-4 base. Plus, Dean isn’t an iron man type. Injuries are almost assuredly going to hit.

It's weird having the highest paid kicker, but I think it needs to be noted that the game is changing. Last year was the best year of special teams play league wide in a long time. If folks are wondering why Carlson got kicked to the curb in favor of Gay, it's 100% because Carlson showed an inability to deal with the landing zone on kickoffs. Idk if Gay is better at it, but Carlson will struggle to find a home if he doesn't adapt to the new rules. As a fan of all three phases of the game, I love the way things are trending. Gay is clearly a bandaid while we find our guy, but kickers can and will be difference makers moving forward.Attyla wrote: Tue Mar 10, 2026 10:30 am Fairbairn now the highest paid kicker in the league
Honestly I do not want to be the team with the highest paid kicker

We had the highest paid kickers for a long time. I'm glad those days are overAttyla wrote: Tue Mar 10, 2026 10:30 am Fairbairn now the highest paid kicker in the league

Yes it is. Now it's just a matter of finding out if we pay any of the salary or if they take it all. Which would give us an extra 20 something million

Well that is hilarious. I hope flipping off our home fans was worth it, dumbass. You're back with the one fanbase that hates you more than the Raiders do.vtraider wrote: Tue Mar 10, 2026 11:15 am https://www.espn.com/contributor/adam-s ... 10acace9ab

Pelissero added that the Raiders will be paying the bulk of Smith's salary to facilitate the trade and the Jets will get the QB while paying a little over the league minimum.mstrbass2000 wrote: Tue Mar 10, 2026 11:33 am jets take over his 26.5 million salary for 2026, raiders dead money of 18.5 million

We were going to be on the hook for his salary regardless, so this is free money in the form of a pickmstrbass2000 wrote: Tue Mar 10, 2026 11:37 am well at least he is off the books and we moved up a few spots in teh draft
