So not apples and oranges. You are just feeling certain the new crew won't f[raiders_icon]ck up the picks. I hope you're right should we make a trade. It's a bird in the hand versus two in the bush situation.BoKnows81 wrote: Tue Feb 24, 2026 5:18 pm Apples n oranges. The value was there. We just had idiots making the picks.
Should we trade Maxx? I'm agnostic. I'll just wait and see what happens.

I’d say Jeanty had a solid season considering little help from schemes and coaching, constantly hit before the los. His value should climb til at minimum his fifth year.BoKnows81 wrote: Tue Feb 24, 2026 5:04 pm No no no. That's not what I said. I said he has significantly more value NOW then he will next year. That's a fact. I've already stated that I believe his value diminished a bit after the basketball video. So no, this isn't the highest its been IMO.
And bro, I see why people are coming after your neck now. You're not making any sense and in the process, it looks like you're just responding to people just to argue. Esp if you truly think that Brock's value and Jeanty's value can't get any higher. Bc you'd be dead wrong. Maxx will be over 30 years old and way past his prime in 2027. No comparison.
Bowers is the real deal, everyone knows it. He will continue his ascent for many years.
They both fit into the structure and timelines of what we are trying to achieve, which will take a few years.
Maxx has tremendous value today and probably next season, possibly more. However, his value should be in decline, especially considering the mileage on him. Double edged sword not taking plays off, admirable and risky. Our turnaround could potentially fit in his prime playing years window, which if we reach in the next few years his value will be less.
Tough call, but it would have to be an offer I couldn’t refuse. I can see both sides, but everyone is for sale at the right price.

Exactly how I feel... it has to be a overpay on the team trading for him or I see no valid reason to cut ties with him. He brings too many positives to our franchise imo...he's already self reflected that maybe his insisting on certain coaches wasn't in his or the teams best interest and i give zero f[raiders_icon]cks about all the other social bs that irks some. Imo if we don't trade him this year he and the team should buckle up for the long haul cuz his return after this year certainly won't justify trading him.chucker wrote: Tue Feb 24, 2026 5:03 pm The Mack trade turned out awful because of the terrible use of the draft picks we received. The Mack trade was also spurred by Gruden being a complete moron and alienating his best player. I don't think either end of that deal happens with this regime. I'd rather keep Maxx than trade him, but I'd also have my price - it would be high. Everything is for sale for a price.
Unless he holds out or becomes a bad locker room guy, zero reason to trade him. He’ll compete with Mendoza for first in last out every day and continue to lead Leonard’s defense.tadow wrote: Tue Feb 24, 2026 7:56 pm Exactly how I feel... it has to be a overpay on the team trading for him or I see no valid reason to cut ties with him. You simply don’t trade your hardest worker when trying to fix the culture.

Jeanty is going to be special and Bowers is already is special and they are just getting started. No comparisons to be had with Maxx's situation. The question is will be able to assemble a contender before their rookie contracts mature?Viper wrote: Tue Feb 24, 2026 7:04 pm I’d say Jeanty had a solid season considering little help from schemes and coaching, constantly hit before the los. Maxx is elite but sooner or later you start running into the law of diminishing returns, and we are probably there now. Texan's decide that are going all in on their defense and play Buddy Ryan football-offense just needs to not f[raiders_icon]ck things up.
Crosby for Nico Collins and a third? Absolutely and twice on Sunday.
I like Maxx but everyone has their price.

I am 100% sure without-a-shred-of-doubt that he may, or may not, be traded.

IMO, that's exactly why you might consider trading Crosby...(when his value is higher now than it ever will be and before his recently displayed "hey, look at me" attitude actually becomes a huge problem.)BG3428 wrote: Tue Feb 24, 2026 10:40 pm Unless he holds out or becomes a bad locker room guy, zero reason to trade him. The Raiders are realistically at least 2 years from being serious contenders in the first place, so why worry about keeping a player that is not going to put your team over the hump anyway?...especially when Maxx might bring us valuable dividends via a trade for player/s and/or draft picks that help change the "culture" for many more years than Maxx's current contract gives us, not to mention the $30+ Mil cap hit we would save over both this year and next.
Overall, I'm in the "I don't care if he gets traded or not" mode.

We have had the worst draft picks in the entire NFL for a long time. How many top picks did we blow through? BB and Jeanty have finally swung the pendulum in our favor. Now we will have our QB. The success of NFL teams in not a secret. Get your QB and fill your roster with young players on rookie contracts who are at least solid starters (while your QB is himself on a rookie contract). Trading Max would be a bonanza if we can add a couple of young pups on rookie contracts who actually produce with the draft picks we receive. The gifts do not stop there. With the cap savings, you can go out and sign 2 good veterans.
2 good young players on rookie contracts and 2 good veterans > Max (and I love the guy, but we have to keep it real).

I have to admit to some confusion. If we are going to compete in two years for a division title, and Maxx should still be at the top of his game,, why trade him just to trade him. There is certainly no way you can predict what a draft pick or two will get you, and if you are trading him for a pick and a player you are almost assuredly going to get a question mark and a player who is not as good as Maxx. Because he talks on a podcast? Because he annoys you? I get it if you get a deal way over the top, but teams tend not to do that. And he is not only one of the best at his position, he is playing at a position where we are really bad, so removing a great player from a weak unit seems counterproductive to me. Someone offers us two firsts, yea, maybe you do that deal. But for me, I like good players and when you have a good player, I would think you would want to add to that, not subtract the good player. And to be honest, if you are annoyed by his words, don't listen. Maxx is setting an example in the workout room, in practice and on the field that benefits everyone. Who cares that he talks. The words of his that I did listen to was when he said he learned his lesson and is staying out of the decision making above his paygrade. Beyond that, I don't care what he says. I honestly don't get triggered by a player talking.

What's the old saying "Better trading a player a year or two yearly than a year or two late".
My concern was Maxx's video could of cost the team a draft pick. It was a real f[raiders_icon]ck you to the management decision. Could you imagine if we lost the 1st overall pick because he was butt hurt?
If we get good draft/player compensation, I'm good with moving forward. We haven't won shit with him either. I can live with a total clean slate. Especially if we were to sign Trey Hendrickson before sending Maxx on his way.

That's exactly correct. You always trade a year early. I just can't understand why some don't grasp this.Rabidraider wrote: Wed Feb 25, 2026 7:37 am What's the old saying "Better trading a player a year or two yearly than a year or two late".

Nico is absolutely a beast and would love to have him - seems good value honestly. I just don’t think it’s wise to trade a dominant D line player for one because they can be had by other means.
If Maxx was to get traded, I would like a player that plays on the line, either side. I would do it in a hot second for a Jalen Carter or Tyler Linderbaum type asset, which I know is mostly a pipe dream, especially seeing as Tyler just received a monster offer supposedly.
I know there are concerns about Carter’s character but I’d still do it. In my mind he should be a Raider anyway but I get why we passed. Timing and optics were as bad as they could get.
My point being, is after Qb, trenches need to be upgraded to dominate, both sides. We have a very good RB, all world TE, plenty of cash to spend and draft capital to address our other needs. Don’t hate your suggestion, would just approach it with a different angle.
