The whole imminence of the trade is totally media created. It seems like for us - it’s business as usual. No different than going to Cleveland and asking about Garrett, or the 9ers and asking about Bosa… it’s probably a no… but you can ask. It seems very apparent by the lack of a trade so far that there’s no fire sale happening here.SkullCrusher wrote: Tue Feb 24, 2026 3:27 pm I would think if you have a player on the roster under contract for this year (and beyond) and if you ask a GM do you think X will be on the team this upcoming season right now, I bet they all would EXPECT them to be.
You don't have to posture, you don't have to break out your word salad recipe because he probably does expect him to be on the team at this time. It's easier to not make a deal then to make one.
I'm trying to get a read now on how little some here would take to move on from Crosby, for some it seems personal now, they've talked this into, he has to go as if he's the problem. I know we'd be letting go our best player on D by a lot. That's going to piss off a lot of fans to. IMO it best be a haul. Pats would be more of a 2nd and a 3rd, f-that.

I think a lot of the narrative boils down to the media story that is basically told via agents. We have no choice but to read between the linesraiders93 wrote: Tue Feb 24, 2026 4:02 pm The whole imminence of the trade is totally media created. It seems like for us - it’s business as usual. Maxx is obviously unhappy and the Raiders clearly would like to keep him. The final outcome will most likely be determined by a third party. We can afford to put off the Maxx decision for a year. Doesn't mean we will maximize the return...
It's a very real possibility Maxx plays for us this year and isn't here in 2027. This is the gamble Spytek has to make.

Yep. And what will we gain by having Maxx here this year if thats the case? Nothing. Damn sure not a super bowl. So why not get rid of him this year while he has significantly more value. It's a no brainer. It's been a no brainer.NoThanksSir wrote: Tue Feb 24, 2026 4:13 pm I think a lot of the narrative boils down to the media story that is basically told via agents. Nobody knows anything. Its smart business to keep things on the down low for both parties if it comes to a trade. Raiders get the best possible deal and Max gets to a team he want to go to. Max is not a prick and he will not try to sabotage the Raiders if in fact he does want to leave.

That's all this is. Mack dwarfed Maxx in every way and folks didn't lose their shit with him. I'm truly befuddled by the Maxx obsession. I think it's worse than Carr. He's not some generational player. I legit don't understand the obsession like he's a dude without a price tag. If folks want to give us first rounders you do it lol

what do we gain by having Jeanty here this year. Not a SB . So why not get him traded off this year? Is Bowers a year closer to a Sb this year?BoKnows81 wrote: Tue Feb 24, 2026 4:18 pm Yep. The argument that trading off your best players is the key to winning a SB is not supported by evidence. Show me a significant trend where trading off your best assets results in championships and I am all in

That's a terrible argument and you know it. The fact that I even have to tell you that Brock and Jeanty's age combined with the fact they are superstars are the main factors of why not to trade them, is ridiculous. You are better than that.Attyla wrote: Tue Feb 24, 2026 4:33 pm what do we gain by having Jeanty here this year. Not a SB . So why not get him traded off this year? Not to mention, I was responding to NoThanks comment about him not being here in 2027. So what good does Maxx do us in 2026 while not being here beyond that? Nothing. Brock and Jeanty are locks to be here after 2027, while in their prime.

so your argument is that Brock and jeanty are younger your argument? Yet you argue that Maxs's value will never be higher?BoKnows81 wrote: Tue Feb 24, 2026 4:47 pm That's a terrible argument and you know it. I would argue that Bowers and Jeanty's values will never be higher.

My opinion on trading Maxx is colored by the Mack trade. Sounded great at the time, getting all those draft picks. In the end we lost an exceptional talent and got back pocket lint in exchange. I guess I have to have faith that current management is more competent.NoThanksSir wrote: Tue Feb 24, 2026 4:27 pm "But he's our guy! The Mack trade turned out awful because of the terrible use of the draft picks we received. The Mack trade was also spurred by Gruden being a complete moron and alienating his best player. I don't think either end of that deal happens with this regime. I'd rather keep Maxx than trade him, but I'd also have my price - it would be high. Everything is for sale for a price.

No no no. That's not what I said. I said he has significantly more value NOW then he will next year. That's a fact. I've already stated that I believe his value diminished a bit after the basketball video. So no, this isn't the highest its been IMO.Attyla wrote: Tue Feb 24, 2026 4:54 pm so your argument is that Brock and jeanty are younger your argument? I would argue that Bowers and Jeanty's values will never be higher.
And bro, I see why people are coming after your neck now. You're not making any sense and in the process, it looks like you're just responding to people just to argue. Esp if you truly think that Brock's value and Jeanty's value can't get any higher. Bc you'd be dead wrong. Maxx will be over 30 years old and way past his prime in 2027. No comparison.

Apples n oranges. The value was there. We just had idiots making the picks.rhumbob wrote: Tue Feb 24, 2026 4:58 pm My opinion on trading Maxx is colored by the Mack trade. Oh come on! If he goes we will have no one to rush the passer. He's not going anywhere.BoKnows81 wrote: Tue Feb 24, 2026 9:23 am If you think "its very clear" that a trade isn't gonna happen, then you haven't been paying attention. You expect these coaches and GMs to say they are looking to trade their star players to the media? That would be terrible business and would diminish value.
Maxx needs to go and hopefully these guys are shopping him behind closed doors.
