Fire Pete Carroll

Unread post by RenoRaiders75 »

I didn't see a thread yet, I wanted Pete to be able to stay a few years to rebuild us back, but it is clear to me that he is clueless on how to fix what is broken. We have made the same mistakes every week, with no corrections. He has to go! Thoughts?

It's one thing to let a HC hire his own coordinators and something a little different to hire his own son to coach the OL and run game. I made a post in the offseason that I was surprised Brady and Davis allowed it to happen given the cons vastly outweigh the pros. That hire was the one that pretty well doomed the season. On the flip side it's also the hire that's going to deliver possibly a 1st overall pick so at the end of the day the hire may be exactly what the organization needed to bottom out.

People have complained for years about head coaches hiring their sons to be on staff - Gruden, Pierce. But those were low level hires and I'm fine with that - it's not much money and they aren't tipping the scales on wins and losses. The most important coaches on staff are HC, OC, DC and oline coach. And when your HC is a defensive guy, then the oline coach might be more key than your DC. You can't have a key position be the son of the guy who'd have to decide to fire him if the performance is subpar. You just can't.

But apparently you can.

No, Spytek better fire everyone immediately after the last game of the year.

Attyla wrote: Mon Dec 15, 2025 5:40 am While the product on the field is bad, yesterday we saw how exposed our secondary is, and that it will not be an easy fix, there is also the front office that continues to confound.

We tend to forget the mass exodus of front office people and flat out reports of a hostile workplace. We forget that the very people who built the stadium ran for the doors. The number of finance personnel who "found other jobs" and the HR issues that were exposed. The front office became a turnstile for people to run away from the building. Add to that the number of times the front office simply decided to step in on decision making and hamstrung the GM in hiring decisions. Del Rio was not hired by McKenzie, that was Davis. Gruden was hired skirting the Rooney rule and without so much as a consult with McKenzie. And Gruden was given all the GM powers. McKenzie became a glorified yes man. Then he was let go and they brought in Mayock who had not real job since Gruden was pulling all the strings. Then Davis hired the next GM/HC combo. And even after that Davis fired everyone and hired Pierce. I am not even clear that Davis did not hire Carroll.

And we wonder why the product stinks on the field. We blame Carroll and rightfully so, but we somehow miss the target at the same time. This is not a coaching issue that can be fixed by getting the right coach. This is an organizational issue. Period. And it starts at the top. We do not get this fixed until the guy running the show gets completely out of the way. Let him go play owner of the WNBA team and leave the NFL to NFL people.
Finally someone said it.
Ive been saying for years all through the Carr thread, 20,00 posts, and over 1000 pages, through people saying the words written by Attyla were excuses

If we draft a QB and everyone from the HC and up keeps getting scrambled each year the players on the field are lost.

Every fire and hire tells players we are not going in the right direction to some extent. To build on that thought Davis has doubts; he doesn't believe to an extent and this trumps everything.

First you must believe. Everything stems off that.
The players can believe in themselves and that would be great. It would also be great in everyone between them and Davis aren't looking over their shoulders pulling at their collars.

But the Davis name gets a pass from the nation!
Bullshit. Thats another rant ill save.

Every player on that field deserves to be there. They all were among the top 300+ rookies drafted.
What they need is to be tought up but they are being taught up under a new everything every year because, sorry, everyone is being FIRED every friggin year. Not to mention the 75% roster flips.

Pete knows what he needs now and where to start. He has his RB , TE, somee decent #2s and LT. He has 2TEs a RB and a #2Bech who dont drop balls. Amazing hands all of them.
Now Pete can build.

He knows what the team needs.

BUT HE'LL GET FIRED THIS YEAY AND PLAYERS CAN START OVER.

I mean, what, the new coach will keep 15 and bring in 39?
When that happens, the players start with, "Hi, I'm Kolton, whats your name?" for f*cks sake!

Flip-flopping the voices above results in players who never played together.

I can go on but won't, yes applause,

Pete didn't think it through when hiring his son to a high profile position. What if he sucked at it (which he does)? He got rid of the OC and the offense is still abysmal. The offensive line is a circus but nothing to see here according to Pete.

Raiders were in a bad way when they could not get Ben Johnson; so I think they jump on Pete Carroll and basically gave him the keys to the team; the Raiders should have done their homework and actually contact the Seahawk on why they demoted Pete Carroll while he was the HC…

I agree with your post and I couldn't believe the Nation's infatuation with taking sides on Derek. The bigger issue is Mark and his impatience. What the Raiders need is stability in the coaching staff, the front office, the scouting room, the training staff. If you look closely at the case of Derek Carr, his stats improved with increased stability and knowledge of the playbook. It's a shame the stability wasn't there for him.

The moment Gruden was fired, drop off in performance due to coaching change. If we draft a QB, I hope we're committed to a 3 to 5 year process.

Can't imagine Carroll in charge of the draft next year. Bet he'd draft a WR at 1.

Dude better gave some serious security if he does.

Carr wasn't the worst of our problems. But he wasn't the solution to them either.

I don't hate the guy, but at this point. Mendoza or Simpson takes over from day 1. No competition, just the keys to the city. Ride or die for the next 3 years. It can't be worse than this shit show. I mean if DC wants to be a mentor and unretire for a league min and a 7th rounder to the Saints, I am OK with that too, but incoming will be starting ASAP. Watching Geno and KP stand back there and take sacks is not fun.

We don’t need another “born loser” in the building. We’ve already got one, who in my opinion we simply can’t overcome, in Doofus McDipshit.

Also, a mentor should be liked and respected. Something 4th’n’f[raiders_icon]ck-it doesn’t engender. The Christian aspect may not be a tie either with Mendoza. I don’t know enough about his service behaviors, but we know 4th’n’f[raiders_icon]ck-it is the type that believes strongly in passing that offering plate.

As time passes people forget how disliked he became for TWO locker rooms. Raiders tired of him after awhile and the Saints were over his shit before his first season was even completed. He didn’t retire due to injury. He retired so he didn’t have to face the legitimate men in the locker room.

Is, and always will be, the biggest pussy to ever make it to the NFL. Should have never been a Raider, and wouldn’t have lasted as long as he did except that the biggest pussy to ever OWN a football team is our very own stupid f[raiders_icon]cking limpdick failson.
