Fire Pete Carroll

Unread post by RenoRaiders75 »

I didn't see a thread yet, I wanted Pete to be able to stay a few years to rebuild us back, but it is clear to me that he is clueless on how to fix what is broken. We have made the same mistakes every week, with no corrections. He has to go! Thoughts?

One and done, don't see any point in keeping him, the team has made no progress it's more dysfunctional than ever and he was supposed to be the guy to bring stability. And what coach are you going to get to supposedly take over that runs his type of system with his type of players ? Hell half the staff will probably be gone next year so there is no continuity anyway

While the club has talent in some roster spots, our record confirms a rebuild is necessary!

Pete’s lack of command of his coaching staff, the firing of 2 coordinators in the last couple weeks and the overall lack preparedness speaks volumes. Could the club have played worse at KC? Why did it take 5 weeks to do the obvious and make changes with our special teams. If the o-line coach wasn’t his son, does anyone think he’d still be here?

It’s clear the offense is a wreck, Seattle 2.0 didn’t work and potentially was worse than New England 2.0.

The entire coaching staff needs to go! Patrick Graham has showed me nothing! Name a player, besides Maxx who has excelled and prospered under his coaching.

The club needs a dynamic, young coach to grow with our new QB and get the most out of Jeanty. Pete was the consolation prize when Ben went to the bears!

Another horrible season for all of us! Club owes the fans something better than this sh!t we’ve watched and supported over the last 3 decades of losing

so tired of going through coaches, and I think this is exactly one of the reasons we are stupidly bad, but the result has not been there. I never expected us to be this bad. I cannot deny I thought anything was possible but this is shit show level bad.

Bring in Cooter and let then just let him have time

If people who pound the drum to draft a QB until you find one, then you keep trying to find the right HC.

Somehow this bozo managed to be worse than AP. Ideally he'd of been gone after the KC game.

There is a slight difference. Every time you change a QB you change the system, you change what you need to compete. Eventually, if you constantly turn over coaches, you have what we are seeing here now. Not only are there players from 5 different head coaches, there are discarded players that are making their marks on other teams. The constant churning takes its toll. Players need to learn new systems, new verbage and on and on. I am all for us getting the right guy, but at some point you have to say, maybe he just needs more time. I was not a fan of Gruden, but even that conservative f[raiders_icon]ck was starting to get us at least a bit above average. Turning over QBs is far easier and far less costly from the standpoint of a stable team. No one can deny that the Rooney family has seen vast success by sticking to their chosen coach. He is struggling now a bit but I would take his run over what we have and I am not even a fan of his coaching. A successful head coach in the nfl can last 5 or more years. Since our inception back in 1960, we have had 3 coaches last 4 years or more. 21 guys did not. 6 of the 21 only made it one year or a partial year.

He has a 3 year deal. Which translates to 2 years - Unless he gets an extension after the 3rd year. Given his age, for them to not have a succession plan was the first major fail....unless Brady pushing Chip on Carroll was the succession plan, given the contract...and the supposed sabotage from Chip, he could have been the successor. Nevertheless, saying that we are playing to win is great, but to not win is a fail, coupled with the way we're losing, Carroll has to go before more damage is done to the franchise. In the least let him finish the year 2-15, get us that top 2 pick, advertise it to a young coordinator and honestly rebuild. I would not burn the whole thing, given how fast things can turn in the NFL.

Pete has a great track record and from that id be inclined to let him have more time. Unfortunately his age cancels that out and he has shown to be stuck in his old ways. We should definitely move on and hire a new coach to go with our young qb.

If Pete indeed gets fired it would be interesting to see just how much Davis has had to pay Gruden, McDaniel, AP, and Pete not to coach the Raiders. May as well throw in Kelly’s salary as he made out very well for 6 months of work.

This makes the Raiders look even worse.

I wonder if Pete would take the PSU job to save face and say he’s retiring instead of being fired. No one appears to want that job, 2 coaches have turned it down this week and Pete’s rah rah shit might still work in college.

All good points but how can you possibly bring a guy back who's inevitably going to go 2-15? I mean their is nothing to look forward to next year if he comes back. He's given us not one ounce of hope.

Davis should go full laughing stock and name himself HC.

I will add that if Pete finishes the job that all prior raiders coaches couldn't (lose out and get us pick #1 for a qb) then all is forgiven and I will think of him fondly after he is gone next season. If he f[raiders_icon]cks this up by beating the giants then he can rot.

Gruden did have the team going the right way but he was way younger than Carroll when he was the HC; When he resigned I was kinda happy about it and thought the raiders would really improve; now I would welcome him with open arms and just shut my mouth.
Pete Carroll is just too old; under Pete Carroll reign; we are about five years away from actually winning games again.
