Fire Pete Carroll

Unread post by RenoRaiders75 »

I didn't see a thread yet, I wanted Pete to be able to stay a few years to rebuild us back, but it is clear to me that he is clueless on how to fix what is broken. We have made the same mistakes every week, with no corrections. He has to go! Thoughts?

Rattledge couldn't start for the Raiders. He would not be ready. The garden gnome would not allow it.

If anything he bolsters our credibility in terms of attracting younger coaches that would be eager to learn under him. I wouldn't be so concerned that we replace him but rather who can be brought to the organization to take over for him when the time comes.

We need stability not another round on the perpetual coaching hiring and firing crazy train.
"Had" a good record of success, but he will be 75 next year and maybe a young Pete could do it but I think his best days are behind him. As far as attracting young coaches ? is Pete going to pick them ? because all I see is a bunch Seattle cast offs, or are they going to bring in "young" coaches for Pete than everyone cries that Pete wasn't allowed to choose his guys. What stability has Pete brought ? fired special teams coach, fired OC, fired OC assistant, nepotism, favoritism, dysfunction, blame game. So we stick with Pete and continue spinning our wheels. I get the constant turning over of coaches sucks but that is a symptom of not hiring the right coaches in the first place. If Pete had shown some kind of improvement, if he had even fielded a halfway competitive team there might be an argument to keep him.

Carroll needs to go...Epic fail all around and the fact that pretty much every aspect of the team has regressed...I get you need stability but whats the point in bringing players to play in Petes system only to send him packing after another epc fail season.

The next coach will have to turn the roster over yet again to get "his guys"........Carroll hitched his wagon to Geno, they can both go and take the rest of the staff with them...Fire them all,let The actual GM do his job without interference from all the other cooks and see what happens :paperbag:

Pete Carroll is just too old; under Pete Carroll reign; we are about five years away from actually winning games again.
Gruden biggest mistake was sticking with that mofo instead of moving on when he should have....We weren't winning $hit with a Turd at QB :paperbag:

We could've had Herbie. He was sitting right there and we had three first rounders in that draft (IIRC). We could've traded two 1st rounders, or even three and got our QB of the future. I think Gruden would've done well with him. But no, Gruden believed the Fool's Gold...

Anyway, if there was something we could point to that was better; if the team was slowly but noticeably improving over the course of the season, that'd be one thing. If it could be said that the O-line struggled at first but is in the process of becoming good unit, then cool. If our rookies and 2nd year players had a rough go early on but were getting better, then great.

None of that is happening. I defended Pete until we got shellacked by Cleveland. It's time for him to go.

Jesse Minter is intriguing. Good story about him via the Athletic.

Raiders were never going anywhere with Gruden as long as he had a say in the draft. He had to be coach only and simply had far too much power for a man that was one of the worst talent evaluators in NFL history.

From that stupid contract to Dufus telling everyone that Gruden had 51% say in all decisions it was a shit show. You do not give a guy who has been out of coaching that long that much. The guy spent his years out of football evaluating QB prospects and that was it. His TV presence was a big look at me gig. Ego killed him in numerous ways. The email scandal was just part of believing he was untouchable. Listen, I hated the move once I saw how much power the guy was given. Dufus was not playing owner, he was playing fan. He was in awe of the guy which tainted his decision making. Gruden asked and he was given without question. I am sure Dufus wanted to get preggers with his child. It was that pathetic.

I actually hope they force Davis to pay out the remainder of his contract, not because he deserves it, but to bitch slap our stupid team owner.

Too much?

I prefer an offensive minded coach but two names that I'd have no problem with are Minter & Shula. Minter basically followed MacDonald's path and is just a few yrs older

The accident with Ruggs really messed us up, it was a spiral after that. Seeing this team implode since then, leads me to believe we were headed a much better direction, than today. So much that I would love Carr and Gruden reunion and I can't even believe I am saying this. Carr would love BB and Jeanty. I just want to win so bad! We all do! I just don't know how rebuilding with a coach that is 900 years old is going to help us.

“I want to win” “Carr and Gruden reunion” contradictory statements.

It's a less than ideal situation. In fact it's a complete clusterfuck. How about Coach Prime?
