Fire Chip Kelly
Figured we can talk about the scheme that is wasting Jeanty, regressing Smith and frustrating the hell out of the fanbase. Not to mention Bech being wasted and a load of other issues.

...where would we get another chip?LayneStaley wrote: Thu Oct 09, 2025 7:41 pm
I’m starting to think Chip doesn’t make it through the season.

I hate to be the one defending a low scoring offense's OC, but come on.
If Smith is just below average we win against Chicago and we would've had a much better chance against the Chargers. At worst we'd be 3-3 right now and talking about it's where most of us expected we'd be. The especially optimistic would be talking about we're just one game out of first place.
I don't know how Kelly's eventually going to do, but I don't see how it's possible to evaluate him with our current QB situation when our QB has thrown 10 picks in 6 games. It's like trying to judge a car's performance when it has a flat tire.

They got the wrong QB for Chip's offense but when that happens it is the responsibility of the OC to design the offense around the player, not make the player play an offense that does not match their strengths. Geno has been bad but it is Kelly's job to fix it and a lot of what will fix it is calling a better game. Get Geno under center. That one play where he was under center, even I said "hand off to Jeanty" and nope fooled everyone and made a great throw to the receiver.Opoponax50 wrote: Mon Oct 13, 2025 6:31 am I hate to be the one defending a low scoring offense's OC, but come on.

That is the shit we need to do. Get him under center a lot more and make the defense figure it out.

Coaches, that expect players/teams to fit their system are doomed to failure. This is exactly why Don Shula was a superior coach.

Oh given all the regime changes, don't we know that. The worst was Carson Palmer in Knapp's system. That guy could not run if you lit his shoes on fire.RickRyb wrote: Mon Oct 13, 2025 8:43 am Coaches, that expect players/teams to fit their system are doomed to failure. I'm not clear on the length of Kelly's contract but I assume that it would be pricey to cut ties after one season. Still I'm not a fan of all the running out of the shotgun and lack of PA. It's not all his fault that the QB is struggling and the OL is crap but he's the OC so it all comes back to him to get more out of the talent. Mike McDaniel will likely be unemployed in the offseason and I wouldn't mind a McVay disciple running a proper NFL offense.

Geno's the same pick machine he's always been. He has poor judgment and is slow to read the field. The ball is slow to come out of his hands too. It's too often the receiver comes open and the ball should already be on the way, but instead Geno's a tick late. That's not a system issue, it's a QB issue.Attyla wrote: Mon Oct 13, 2025 8:40 am They got the wrong QB for Chip's offense but when that happens it is the responsibility of the OC to design the offense around the player, not make the player play an offense that does not match their strengths. As for the rest, I'm of the opinion that the entire offense needs time to come together. It's been slower than anyone would've liked, but it is beginning to happen. Our run game is better. Our O-line still blows, but they've been giving Geno more time to throw. At this point I'm calling it a work in progress.
But whatever. I've accepted Raider Loserdom like a death row inmate strapped into the electric chair has accepted his fate.

If Chip Kelly were to get fired, say during The Raiders bye week, is there someone on staff to get the interim title? Or is it the desire he be fired after this season? Is there a person on the current staff worthy enough to be considered for the job next season? Are there any candidates available or projected to be available?

Feels more like a death row inmate that’s in year 20 waiting for the chair and still has at least a decade to go.Opoponax50 wrote: Mon Oct 13, 2025 2:58 pm Geno's the same pick machine he's always been. I’ll take it a step further, in adding we are strapped in the chair and they threw the switch but it didn’t work. Now while strapped in the chair we are waiting on them to fix itXramfan wrote: Mon Oct 13, 2025 3:15 pm Feels more like a death row inmate that’s in year 20 waiting for the chair and still has at least a decade to go.
