The Off. Line - Complaints, Fixes, Questions, Draft

Mike Tice once said while coaching for the Raiders: “If you look at the offense like a fancy car, the offensive line is the engine. Even though we might have nice spinners and nice rims and tinted windows and some neat paint job, it doesn’t mean crap without the engine. If the engine’s not working, the car might look like a pretty nice car, but it’s a piece of crap.” And he was 100% right. I wish we had him back. Changes must be made on the O-line. Charles Grant is a very athletic lineman. We should give him some reps at right tackle. Bring back Powers-Johnson as the starter at center. Parham has got to go. Maybe we should consider moving Meredith back to guard. He did so well there last year. :cuss:

D. Walker is 6'7" and 331 lbs. He's alot bigger and stronger than T. Linderbaum.

Yep, we could have used him. But, everyone else passed on him too. If you want to see a roster full of later round picks and UDFAs, look at the 49ers. We used to be good at that with Ron Wolfe and Al Davis (before he became obsessed with moving and lawsuits).

I was looking up something yesterday, and if we count this as the first year Mark truly kept his fingers out of the pie, it would be the 4th year that the Raiders franchise, since it’s inception, didn’t have a Davis pulling strings. Mark fell so far from the apple tree that he’s a persimmon.
