Exactamundo. Though Maxx is more petulance with flappy-gums-drama than dickhead-drama. Great players, but I don’t want Pickens and would be fine trading Maxx.

I brought up Pickens in another thread, and a few voiced character concerns which I think are valid— I’m still on the fence because he was mostly well behaved in Dallas, but boy have we been on the shit end of bad behavior before.

But as I said in the other thread, speaking on him just as a player, I think he could be great in an offense that features him like Kubiak’s would.

Preamble considered, what do you guys think about Maxx for Pickens + 12? Take the best player available at 12, and hope Pickens becomes the best version of himself.

I would still be concerned from an attitude point of view, but he’s the kind of guy who could really make our offense great. I think he’s just scratching the surface of what he can be

You're definitely trading a malcontent for possibly a bigger one. It's not without risk But Pickens is in his prime and displayed a level of production for his position that Maxx has never sniffed. He can be an elite #1 so if we got an additional first in this scenario sure I'd do it. If it were anything less than Pickens + 12 I'd most likely go cheap with vet WR and try to solve the position next year.

...it doesn't obviously, and anyone fooled by Pickens having behaved a bit more like an adult for one year, or at least not like he had before, and when he knew he absolutely had to, to get the big score that he was targeting, really hasn't paid attention to how guys like that work....

I am not worried about the return from a potential trade of Max. This is a different front office and they are not obligated to do dick. Max is clearly wanted by multiple teams. Sit back and let them bid against each other. Worse case is at the end of the day, we have Max (not a bad thing).
