Yes but we really don’t “need” jakobi for 20+ mil because he’s gonna be getting his production in the same areas of the field as Bowers. If he was an X with speed outside they woulda paid him already.
I like Jakobi and want to keep him but I wouldn’t overpay if you can flip him for help on D.

I would extend him also for whatever the minimum amount we can, hopefully 15-18 million.Jeevo wrote: Mon Aug 25, 2025 12:51 pm I think I’d extend him just short of $20, but I’d be looking to move on after this year.

...whether they are 'ready' or not, we picked up a lot of young talent at that position, and in addition to our very capable tight end targets, so committing anything outrageous, and for more than 1 year, would seem to be more than likely what doesn't work for either side at the numbers they have probably discussed.
...so rather than bringing in a turd like cooper, and he has been that for at least a few years now, when we quite possibly have a better, and 'cheaper' option already on the team, trading him away for a solid pick seems like the way to go.

This may seem controversial but, we are better off trading him for picks as that would be more lucrative than keeping him. We already drafted his replacement, let him play. As he would only take touches away from our potential superstar WR.
Thorton is better than Meyers.

I said when bech was drafted he would be his replacement. Just wasn't expecting it until next year

How many receptions and receiving yards does Thornton have again?mranquales wrote: Mon Aug 25, 2025 2:44 pm This may seem controversial but, we are better off trading him for picks as that would be more lucrative than keeping him. I wonder what rooting for team that doesn’t always have something dramatic going on is like?
We better win some f[raiders_icon]cking games.

Figured this would happen. Unless his demands relent, I see them waiting until the trade deadline to see what Bech can do. I would be OK with moving him now for a good CB and rolling the dice that Bech is ready to play. Why not? Roll your dice on Bech or roll them on your CB's. Might as well bet on your 2nd round pick.

Can't wait; he will be an unhappy camper. Not someone you want on your barely viable NFL team.Cruisin with Tooz wrote: Mon Aug 25, 2025 2:55 pm Figured this would happen.
