The Divisional Round games
This weekend's games are all easy picks for me when it comes to rooting interest...... I'm not torn between two teams in any of them where I don't mind either team or I hate both teams.
I want the Bills to destroy the Broncos - for obvious reasons. I think almost every Raider fan does, with the exception of some weirdos who live in Bills country and hate them with a passion. The Bills have so many injuries, but they do have the superpower of a Josh Allen who can make ridiculous plays if it comes down to it.
I want the Niners to beat the Seahawks. That's probably not a popular view among Raider fans, but I've never had the disdain for the Niners that a Bay Area Raider fan would have and I still hate the AFC West Seahawks. The Niners also have so many injuries, I don't know how they get it done.
I would love to see the Texans smash the Pats. Maybe as a result of a CJ Stroud fumble that's overturned by replay and then called an incomplete pass due to some obscure rule. Stroud looks awful right now, if they don't keep him clean then he'll have multiple turnovers again.
Then the weekend can get capped off by the Rams routing the Bears, with Mike Lefleur screaming "f[raiders_icon]ck the Bears" in support of his bro.

Did you really just use a still shot to prove the ball was not moving?

Josh has 38 total TDs to 6 INTs in the playoffs. I wouldn’t say he’s a bad qb.

Didn't say he was, I said he was Brett Favre and everything that entails.Raidernation1979 wrote: Sun Jan 18, 2026 8:54 pm Josh has 38 total TDs to 6 INTs in the playoffs. I wouldn’t say he’s a bad qb.

I disagree - to my eye Cooks had the ball in control and it would have never left his hands had not McMillian pulled it out after Cooks was down by rule. That said, I can see how it would different to someone else's eye. The problem is the rule. The "eye test" for a catch worked great for years and then they tried to put a definition on what a catch is, and there's no way you can put a precise definition on an action that has infinite possible manifestations. So, since the rule was written, we have constant controversy as they try to make reality conform to the rule than trying to make the rule reflect reality.FLORIDARAYDAH wrote: Sun Jan 18, 2026 7:25 pm Not even similar. Adams had full control of the ball and a knee down. Cooks never had control of the ball.

I for one am grateful we don’t have to see a shirtless Ben Johnson acting like a 14 year old who just got to second base on his first gf ever.
Call me shallow but I’ll root against him for not choosing us. Give him Geno and tell me how great a coach he is. I’ll respect the guy who takes our job and turns it around, - that would be a great coach.
On another note, it’s much easier muting the game, any game, with Collinsworth calling it and putting on CC. Unbelievable how many times I disagree with his opinion, let alone listening to his voice. I’m not sure he’s qualified enough to be left alone with a coloring book and not draw outside the lines.

...perhaps you're right......chucker wrote: Sun Jan 18, 2026 2:53 pm You're overreacting to his actual performance in games. He's awesome because he crushed the throwing drills at the combine.
....I will say that after having several knee operations, watching some of these guys try and adjust to a pass 2 yards behind them hurt from here ...

He hasn’t won anything. For better or worse. Excuse or no excuse.
His fault or not his fault.
He hasn’t won a Super Bowl or the AFC.
He is crowned as if he has.
He had a clear path this year and, he was awful when it mattered. It’s rare he’s that bad in the playoffs but he was.

Yes, Alan was terrible yesterday. He was also great. Five turnovers that game should’ve been a blowout. Yet he took the lead in the end of the fourth. The defense gave it up. He went back down and tied the game again. Then made the throw in overtime that the receiver couldn’t keep in his possession that should’ve won them the game so well yes yesterday a lot of the blame falls on him. He was also the only reason they were able to get back in it and had a shot to win at the end.Be_Easy_25 wrote: Mon Jan 19, 2026 5:32 am Who said he was?

I would say his defense has let him down more than he’s let the team down in the playoffs. I don’t know how much more Superman he can be to win these games.

Him playing like Superman is part of the problem. It’s been discussed in buffalo sports media a bit.Raidernation1979 wrote: Mon Jan 19, 2026 6:21 am Yes, Alan was terrible yesterday. Because he’s getting out the cape the team tends to lean into it more than they should with bad results at the worst times. Couple this with the Brett Favre play I’ve mentioned? This is the results.
Bottom line you can’t turn the ball over that many times and hope to win.

Oh, I agree on most of that. However, they would lose a lot more games if he doesn’t pull the cape out. That’s what happens when you have bad offensive coordinators and terrible receiversWillmark wrote: Mon Jan 19, 2026 6:34 am Him playing like Superman is part of the problem. I am not sure about this. McDermott has won something like 98 regular season games in nine seasons? The playoffs have been disappointing but the Bills have been on the wrong end of some weird calls. The post season is a different game you need to have a little luck on your side.
John Madden lost five AFC Championship games before the Raiders pushed through in 1976. The bulk of John's body or work was prior to the Super Bowl win. Sometimes you just have to keep punching.
Cleveland has been dogshit since they fired Schottenheimer, and as Madden once said when asked why he couldn't win the big one, "Show me a little one."
After an emotional playoff loss owners and GM's should go on a 7 day sabbatical off the grid. Think things over and then come to a decision about the future.
Buffalo is about to fall back into the dredges of the AFC East.

Not only that but look at Andy Reid. In Philly he couldn't get it done. At the chiefs he doesToast wrote: Mon Jan 19, 2026 7:11 am I am not sure about this. That just shows how to change of scenery sometimes works. Since the split Reid has three and Philly has two.vtraider wrote: Mon Jan 19, 2026 7:13 am Not only that but look at Andy Reid. In Philly he couldn't get it done. At the chiefs he does

And a change in QB's. McNabb was a choke artist. Good post though, Philly did finally break through after plateauing with Reid. Sometimes moving on works though I never thought Reid was the problem in the city of brotherly love.Raidernation1979 wrote: Mon Jan 19, 2026 7:17 am That just shows how to change of scenery sometimes works.
