The Divisional Round games
This weekend's games are all easy picks for me when it comes to rooting interest...... I'm not torn between two teams in any of them where I don't mind either team or I hate both teams.
I want the Bills to destroy the Broncos - for obvious reasons. I think almost every Raider fan does, with the exception of some weirdos who live in Bills country and hate them with a passion. The Bills have so many injuries, but they do have the superpower of a Josh Allen who can make ridiculous plays if it comes down to it.
I want the Niners to beat the Seahawks. That's probably not a popular view among Raider fans, but I've never had the disdain for the Niners that a Bay Area Raider fan would have and I still hate the AFC West Seahawks. The Niners also have so many injuries, I don't know how they get it done.
I would love to see the Texans smash the Pats. Maybe as a result of a CJ Stroud fumble that's overturned by replay and then called an incomplete pass due to some obscure rule. Stroud looks awful right now, if they don't keep him clean then he'll have multiple turnovers again.
Then the weekend can get capped off by the Rams routing the Bears, with Mike Lefleur screaming "f[raiders_icon]ck the Bears" in support of his bro.

Seattle in January isn't exactly out of the elements.chucker wrote: Sun Jan 18, 2026 7:07 pm I trust he'll be more on target next Sunday out of the elements.

Yeah I don't know. While impressive that was a wing an a prayer.Toast wrote: Sun Jan 18, 2026 7:07 pm Damn-that throw by Caleb to send the game into OT was one of the best passes I have ever seen. Then he throws the game away when they were playing for a FG.
Fun game to watch nonetheless.

No doubt about that but it's a difficult throw for a right handed QB to fade left and then launch one deep and hit the receiver right on the numbers while taking a shot. I am still not sure about him though.Willmark wrote: Sun Jan 18, 2026 7:10 pm Yeah I don't know. While impressive that was a wing an a prayer.

I agree on that one. It was amazing no doubt. He can chuck it for sure, but I have a hard time believing that was really "on target". To me the best throw is one that has to be accurate, he threw a punt and his guy fielded it.Willmark wrote: Sun Jan 18, 2026 7:10 pm Yeah I don't know. While impressive that was a wing an a prayer.

Love that game. I had a 3 player parlay and was losing all 3. All 3 got what I needed in OT. Stafford/Caleb over 250 passing and Kyren over 85 rushing
Fun game plus a money winner

Heres the Devante Adams catch that looked eerily similar to Brandon Cooks yesterday--you be the judge..

That wasn’t a great pass. It was a desperation heave that luckily had no defenders within 5 yardsToast wrote: Sun Jan 18, 2026 7:07 pm Damn-that throw by Caleb to send the game into OT was one of the best passes I have ever seen. Then he throws the game away when they were playing for a FG.

Spot on, so over the top in love with a guy that threw 3 picks, needed DJ Moore to make 2 incredible catches and a wing and a prayer to tie the game.Raidernation1979 wrote: Sun Jan 18, 2026 6:56 pm Can Chris suck Caleb’s dick anymore? Mahomes hurt so he had to put another one in his mouth

Not even similar. Adams had full control of the ball and a knee down. Cooks never had control of the ball.ALLRAIDERWORLD21 wrote: Sun Jan 18, 2026 7:17 pm Heres the Devante Adams catch that looked eerily similar to Brandon Cooks yesterday--you be the judge..

The old adage is the football has a funny shape causing it to bounce in funny ways. The Broncos and bears sure have had it bounce thier way an awful lot this year. They likely won’t be as lucky next season as things should regress to the mean.

Yep. It's amazing the mental gymnastics that the officials and fans go through to try and justify what is obvious.
Also obvious that was missed, is he also committed pass interference on that play. Cook at him beaten badly, he was trailing the play, never turned his head and ran into Cooks well before the ball arrived. It was great catch by Cooks because it was a PI all the way.

His performance against the Chiefs in the playoffs several years back (the one that caused the NFL to change the overtime rules) is one of the best QB performances I've ever seen.Willmark wrote: Sun Jan 18, 2026 4:13 am He is a very good QB, not sure he’s great. HOF? YTBD in my opinion.
As our QB? I too would take him.
All that said? As it stands right now very similar to Jim Kelly and not in a good way: very good in the regular season and bad in the post season. Only difference is Kelly was downright horrific in the Super Bowls.
I actually like Allen, I’ve had tabs on him since his Wyoming days since we’re moving there eventually. His game is certainly exciting but it’s not without risks and time and again it shows at the worst times. Case in point? He’s 0-7 now in overtime games.
Could he break through and win it all? Sure but it’s becoming a tougher and tough task. As was mentioned up thread, Elway? He’s an outlier not the norm.
I don't know that I'd say "he's bad in the postseason" because he's played well in many of the games they've lost over the years. As far as I know, they've always been last-second highly competitive games.
