Fire Pete Carroll

Unread post by RenoRaiders75 »

I didn't see a thread yet, I wanted Pete to be able to stay a few years to rebuild us back, but it is clear to me that he is clueless on how to fix what is broken. We have made the same mistakes every week, with no corrections. He has to go! Thoughts?

Really wished that they can get a coach who can really coach and groom and help the team out. Pete as much as he had so much success but his ways are not what the NFL or the Raiders even need.

I doubt they keep Pete with the number 1 pick and all the cap room. Add in Brock and Jeanty and this is probably the most attractive the coaching job has looked since Gruden 1.0 was traded.

Let Spy pick the coach. Brady and MD have failed. Chip was a horrible hire too.

Agreed, Spytek is the guy who will be working with the HC, the most. Spytek's drafted Carroll types this past year, a bell cow back in Jeanty, larger corner in Porter.

I would've left his ass in Philadelphia a couple weeks ago.

It is going to suck to see Pete go out like this. We need coaching stability but I just do not see him surviving a two win season.

The biggest grievance with Pete is how he handled all of our young players except Jeanty, and even Jeanty took a few weeks to get 15+ touches a game. JPJ, Grant, Rodgers, Thorton, Bech. Everything was mishandled.

Meh....I never cared for much. His teams always seemed to play undisciplined and sloppy

I understand what your saying; never really fair to hire a coach and then after one season you end up firing him…I think most teams like to give a HC a few years at least….

You all should really take a look at how many coaches out there are actually good enough to stick around. Three coaches have been on their team for 10 years or more. 17 coaches are three or less years in their roles. If you guys are hoping for a guy who is going to develop a player over time? Good luck with that. Coaches are hired and fired at an alarming rate

Which leads me to believe that Spytek was neutered to a certain extent as the report says. Pete has been glowing about Jeanty since day one while it looks like Spytek wanted Graham/Membou.

Not that I’m the biggest Spytek guy but I’m willing to give him a chance. Brady/Mark better back off & be like Magic Johnson in LA. Just be cheerleaders & let your coach/GM fail/succeed on their own. Even guys like Florio & Middlekauf are saying Brady can’t sit there & be part time President

Overall i agree with you but as it is with the QB position, you gotta keep trying. Enough with the retreads. Enough with the clueless rah rah guys. Take a shot on a young offensive minded guy and let him grow with your new QB. There's always hidden gems but you'll never find them without trying.

Maybe so, but the consistent playoff teams have had continuity with their head coaches. The bottom feeders perpetually cycle through them.

Continuity was never something to be expected with a 75 year old head coach though. The Raiders settled and didn't have a choice, which is why they had to give him full control. Hopefully the #1 pick, most cap space along with 2 foundational offensive pieces can attract a young offensive minded guy here.
