Why would that even be an option?

Grain of salt. He’d trade Mendo, the next 3 year’s 1st rounders, and his own wife and kids for Carr this instant.

All signs point to a large portion of the forum melting down if Mendoza doesnt throw for 5k yards, 40 tds and less than 10 picks this season.

Yes, I've noticed a few people melting down already, and I can't even begin to understand it. The kid is going to be just fine, yet these individuals are ready to jump ship because they are surprised there is a learning curve? I mean, preseason has hardly ever meant a damn thing, yet when it comes to Mendoza, it carries an immense amount of weight and tells all... Simply ridiculous.

Based on all the rending of blouses during our rookie QB’s 2nd preseason game, you might be underselling. He’ll probably need to hit all those milestones as well as wrap up the MVP by no later than week 3.DanKD wrote: Fri Aug 21, 2026 11:13 pm All signs point to a large portion of the forum melting down if Mendoza doesnt throw for 5k yards, 40 tds and less than 10 picks this season.

Watching footage, Benson and Nailor made Mendoza look worse than he is.
Nailor is starting to look like an overpaid teacher's pet to me.

No I don't. He still doesn't look ready. He's flashed for sure and will get better. Even against the Cardinals Kirk looked better than Mendoza. He also still has work to do from being under center. What it has done, imo, is solidify him as the second string qb and will probably get a handful of starts towards the end of the season unless injuries or Kirk falls off a cliff performance wise. Then we'll see him soonerraiders93 wrote: Fri Aug 21, 2026 7:36 pm Anyone else feel like the odds of Mendo starting week 1 have gone up considerably? Considering kubes was pretty gung ho on Kirk initially and now it’s unannounced… the silence speaks volumes on that one

In addition to the many recent doom and gloom posts concerning this team after 2 preseason games, I've also noticed a few posts on the other end of the spectrum that are IMO, equally overoptimistic.Hellbound wrote: Sat Aug 22, 2026 5:39 am No I don't. Though we've seen some positive flashes in some areas, we have a long way to go in others. So much attention has been aimed at Mendoza but the QB position is far from the only area that needs to be addressed. New players, new coaches, new system, etc., are all going to require a huge learning curve, not to mention that we have a very tough schedule.
So I believe we should curb our enthusiasm because it's going to be a long journey and a long season.

nailor is a wr3/4, bech is a wr3/4, tucker is wr2/3 the raiders have the weakest wr room in football and it show in preseason ...coaching staff see it finally but what left that they can even try to get in free agency ???mranquales wrote: Sat Aug 22, 2026 1:36 am Watching footage, Benson and Nailor made Mendoza look worse than he is.

He should have won the SB already after two pre season games. Why can't you see that?riseNraid09 wrote: Fri Aug 21, 2026 11:28 pm Yes, I've noticed a few people melting down already, and I can't even begin to understand it. Maybe. We'll see when the real season starts. Until then........... it's just practice and evaluation season.mranquales wrote: Sat Aug 22, 2026 1:36 am Watching footage, Benson and Nailor made Mendoza look worse than he is.

Our WR room is definitely weak. We are going to need (and I think we get it) elite production from Bowers, Mayer, Jeanty and Washington.
Next offseason we need to get a #1 receiver level talent in the draft.
