At the end of the day this reflects more on the Ravens as it’s rare for teams to back out of big trades like this. It’s on the rest of the league to tread cautiously when dealing with unethical organizations like the Ravens.16 to 88 wrote: Wed Mar 11, 2026 9:38 am Yes sir! Maybe the multi billion dollar NFL one day will get around to fixing this? Or are the ravens gonna keep making trades that the whole world knows they agreed to just to squirm out of it with this loop hole?

The physical is really hard to fake. It is not like they would have him running or such given how recent the surgery was. It likely was more scans and such.raidersince63 wrote: Wed Mar 11, 2026 9:05 am Something just crossed my mind and before anyone loses their cabbage, it's just a random thought/possibility.
What if, Maxx decided himself that Baltimore is not where he cared to go, and purposely dogged it at the physical?
Then why do the whole flock nation thing on his video?raidersince63 wrote: Wed Mar 11, 2026 9:05 am Something just crossed my mind and before anyone loses their cabbage, it's just a random thought/possibility.

Right, if Micah stayed with the Cowboys he would have played and life goes on. When you make a trade it's supposed to be of equal value to both sides, so it's not like a loss, it's a pivot. Maybe not the most desirable, but not a loss, more like dreams were changed unexpectedly and no one cares for that.tatalalicious wrote: Wed Mar 11, 2026 8:44 am This is such nonsense, this is no where near a "drastic"situation. It's safe to say that it was Crosby who wanted the trade not the Raiders, so they currently are where they wanted to be before being forced into trading their most valuable asset no matter what anyone else things of the player. There is no cap crisis that would dictate them moving Crosby unless they get their price, and I suspect Crosby/his agent will now back off and focus on preparing for the season.

Good points. A simple restructure of Maxx would save plenty of cap. The team could still sign whatever FAs it wants to sign. Right now there's no need to restructure anyone.haji81872 wrote: Wed Mar 11, 2026 9:42 am If we need more cash we can free up about 25 million or more.
Restructure Maxx Crosbycould free up roughly $16.9 million to $30 million+ depending on how the deal is structured.
Restructure/Extend Kolton Miller could create about $8.8 million to $14 million in immediate savings.
Even more with Chinn, but I am not sure how much we could save there.

Is there any good FA olineman still out there that can help us be more certain of this problem being fixed for '26?

If Crosby goes and has a DPOY type of season Baltimore will look really bad. If Crosby blows his knee out in the first game of the season Baltimore can say, "See, we told you his knee didn't look right"

Although the Raiders have the right to restructure Crosby’s 2026 compensation to reduce the cap hit for 2026, the money will be paid from a predetermined cash budget. Whatever they had allocated for Monday’s spending spree will have another $30 million added to it.
That’s a problem for the Raiders. It’s one of the reasons why last night’s tweet oozed with animosity for the Ravens. We’re told that, as of last night, the Raiders were working hard to figure out what to do next. If they will indeed be keeping Crosby, they’ll need to shake Mark Davis’s couch cushions for another $30 million that they didn’t expect to spend this year.

Personally, I'd like to see some sort of deposit system. If teams agree a trade then they have to put a 2nd/3rd round draft pick up as collateral. Trade falls through? The other team gets the pick. Obviously this would need some tinkering.

Poor Max-B, he was dead in my mind for a few minutes until Corleone did a bit of detective work and uncovered the scam. His theft made him a few hundredaire.chucker wrote: Wed Mar 11, 2026 9:41 am This scandal is almost as big as when that guy on here faked his own death to get out of paying the fantasy football winners.

The difference between the cash they would pay to Crosby and the cash they would pay to the #14 pick in 2026 is more like $15 million. And the Raiders weren't done in FA anyway, so they can adjust their plan going forward as well. This is not a cash issue for the team.Sold My Soul wrote: Wed Mar 11, 2026 10:03 am Although the Raiders have the right to restructure Crosby’s 2026 compensation to reduce the cap hit for 2026, the money will be paid from a predetermined cash budget. Agreed. They will still have about 36M of cap space available.chucker wrote: Wed Mar 11, 2026 10:10 am The difference between the cash they would pay to Crosby and the cash they would pay to the #14 pick in 2026 is more like $15 million. If that happened I think it would have more been around contract negotiations. And that Maxx wanted more guaranteed money and they used the failed physical as a result of itraidersince63 wrote: Wed Mar 11, 2026 9:05 am Something just crossed my mind and before anyone loses their cabbage, it's just a random thought/possibility.

Yeah nobody was forced, but if you cant rely on teams who are given full disclosure regarding a player, to honor agreements than the whole system collapses. It's especially egregious that the Ravens likely waited till the last moment to bail once they were sure they'd be able to land Hendricks. While the Ravens waited other teams interested moved on and looked elsewhere. I think it'll work out in the end for the Raiders but there is an unspoken rule here that the Ravens didn't abide by, which has to impact how some teams deal with them in the future.chucker wrote: Wed Mar 11, 2026 9:32 am All reports are that no agreement is binding. I think it's completely allowed for teams or players to back out of their deals made prior to the new league year. If a team wants absolute certainty, then don't make deals until you can operate with absolute certainty. Nobody forced the Raiders to make this deal Friday.
