You haven't been looking in the mirror
Obviously you can't distinguish one hate from another lol I like the Hire, but I'm not remotely over the last 20 plus years of dysfunction..so suck on that for a while before being a dick to others ;)

It would be a hoot if Pete goes for 10 years building a winning culture, getting to the playoffs and maybe just challenge for a Lombardi and builds program to pass on to a successor…
And what it some how some way this all leads to Brady getting to double digits with his ring collection….
I know I know I know….
I am dreamer. I am an optimist and I am the DiCK.

In a division where 3-4 teams made the playoffs, all with HC's with unlimited experience at building winners? The Raiders have landed a proven winner with equal credentials. I'm on board. A rookie wasn't working in the toughest division in football!
Being Raiders fans we are used to getting a head coach with a history of success and championships. We are used used 1st time HCs or failed vet HCs.
The one expection is Gruden 2.0. With that you do have ask would he have beaten a team in the SB that he did not know as well as he did the Raiders? How would he have done against the Pats?
The reactions of disappointment and pessimism is indeed logical considering how many coaches we have had and only going to the playoffs twice since 2002.
Islandboy, great point about Gruden. I don't know if you remember or not, but the Raiders and Callahan got screwed that year because, for some odd reason, the AFC and NFC championship games were only one week between those games and the Super Bowl. Had the regular 2 weeks off applied, I believe Callahan would have been able to change all of the signals, and I believe that Raider team would have easily beaten the Buccaneers. Gruden lucked out big time. Callahan didn't have the time to change the plays, and the Bucs defense knew every play and audible in the Raiders playbook. That's why that Super Bowl was so lopsided in the Bucs favor.
Had Andy Reid's Eagles not shit the bed in Philly that year and played the Raiders in the SB instead of the Bucs, the Raiders would have beaten the Eagles still with only one week between the championship games and the SB.

Forgot about only one week off and the Philly game with TB.
Bravo on the observations!
