And Crosby is more valuable than Hendrickson at this moment and the Ravens know it. He’s 3 years older, is already on the visible decline, is coming off of core surgery and isn’t radically cheaper. Take away his one big year and he averages about 8 sacks a year. There’s a reason they wanted Crosby more than him and it’s the same reason everyone else would want him more as well. This signing will be a failure is my call.

I don't think the situation is irreconcilable and equally Crosby is ambitious and could well have been persuaded by our offseason moves that we are laying the groundwork to be a serious, competitive franchise once more.Attyla wrote: Wed Mar 11, 2026 6:44 am I have no doubt what happened lowers his value. We will end up with less now. But I also doubt we keep him. He wanted to be a Raider for his career, but us dealing him tells him that he was a commodity and not family. That damaged the relationship. Only question is, did he request a trade or did we just do a deal. Either way, we sealed his fate. I see him gone within days
I'm not suggesting your rationale is wrong but just think time is against us and more importantly against other franchises who've committed to players elsewhere.
Never a dull day with us eh?!

So are you saying that the Ravens are better off with Max than Hendrickson and their picks? I am only talking from a Ravens perspective.tatalalicious wrote: Wed Mar 11, 2026 6:48 am Dont know about that, I think its at best a wash, the 14th pick was always a weird pick in this years draft. Hendricks is a lesser/older player than Maxx with injuries as well. The Raiders get back Crosby with a better attitude towards the idea of staying with the Raiders, he and his agent tried to force their way out ( I think they were behind that Silver article) and were humbled. The Raiders get an asset back that they can always trade in the future once he healed.

Raiders play their cards right and they can get the exact same deal in the near future once Maxx is fully recovered. Hope they dont rush into making another trade unless they get their original asking price.Jeevo wrote: Wed Mar 11, 2026 6:42 am I think the picks plus the cap space is the better situation for the Raiders but that ain’t happening anymore. I guess it’s back to where it was before the “deal”, trade him if it makes sense but don’t trade him just to do it.

Oh, I know if we keep him he will play and he will give it all he has got. I just don't think they will keep him. The defense with him would be fantastic it appears pending a draft of a true NT.Spurs Raider wrote: Wed Mar 11, 2026 6:50 am I don't think the situation is irreconcilable and equally Crosby is ambitious and could well have been persuaded by our offseason moves that we are laying the groundwork to be a serious, competitive franchise once more.

I hope we don't take Maxx back.
I also think all the bargain hunters will be out to do some kind of deal for him.
Maybe we can get some 2nd round picks for him IDK.

All true but building that O line that we all covet was a lot easier with the deal in place.NoThanksSir wrote: Wed Mar 11, 2026 6:45 am I'm just glad we have our own picks. Extra firsts would have been nice, but we can absolutely build a long term winner with Maxx entering his golden years. The question with him was always can he buy into a rebuild. We're a significantly better team than we were 5 days ago when we traded him.

Hendrickson played 7 games last year, is older, and despite being a better pass rusher is a worse overall player than Maxx. I think any time you make a trade for a big name player, that player's value is relative to your ability to compete. Ravens had a rough tampering period so now taking a stop gap like Hendrickson makes sense yes, but only because they are a substantially worse team than they were a week ago.RI RAIDER wrote: Wed Mar 11, 2026 6:51 am So are you saying that the Ravens are better off with Max than Hendrickson and their picks? I am not going to lie. I LOVED the Max trade. It really hurts us twofold. We no longer get those picks and it made us operate with false conditions (we would have further addressed the OL in FA). I really believe Max was traded because it enabled us to quickly fix the OL (and protect our investments).

I don't know if the team will keep him, but for now I think that has to be the plan. As a team, you just don't worry about it and start building the team and the culture moving forward with Maxx. If an opportunity later presents itself, so be it.Attyla wrote: Wed Mar 11, 2026 6:54 am Oh, I know if we keep him he will play and he will give it all he has got. The stink the Ravens have put on themselves is going to last a long time on this one.
No looking back, time for us to move forward with a revised plan and focus on making us better.

Dunno, I just think we are going to deal him and I may be wrong and if so, I freely admit it. I like Maxx, but I also don't want a guy who does not want to be here. I freely admit I don't know if the trade was his idea or not, but either way, there has been damage to the relationship. Can it be repaired, sure. But that will require a lot of conversation I believe.chucker wrote: Wed Mar 11, 2026 6:59 am I don't know if the team will keep him, but for now I think that has to be the plan. Im saying its not as clear cut as some make it out to be. The Ravens ended up with a considerably older/lesser DE and a middling pick in the first round, dont care about next years pick who knows what that will end up being. They've also damaged their once stellar reputation that's been on the decline recently which means something no matter what anyone says.RI RAIDER wrote: Wed Mar 11, 2026 6:51 am So are you saying that the Ravens are better off with Max than Hendrickson and their picks?
