I assume Brady is who Josh Allen wanted. Webb was never a good hire for them as they expect to be in the superbowl and webb needs time to learnBoKnows81 wrote: Tue Jan 27, 2026 9:26 am Wonder why Bills went with Brady over Webb. Did Webb not impress? What could be going on behind the scenes.

Just a guess, maybe they're already regretting canning their coach and they didn't want to lose Brady too.BoKnows81 wrote: Tue Jan 27, 2026 9:26 am Wonder why Bills went with Brady over Webb. Did Webb not impress? What could be going on behind the scenes.

Do you want the rookie with a team that wants to win immediately?BoKnows81 wrote: Tue Jan 27, 2026 9:26 am Wonder why Bills went with Brady over Webb. Did Webb not impress? What could be going on behind the scenes.

Maybe, having actually worked with Brady over a period of years, they actually know more than we do and believe he's really good? And maybe they're right? Time will tell.BoKnows81 wrote: Tue Jan 27, 2026 9:26 am Wonder why Bills went with Brady over Webb. Did Webb not impress? What could be going on behind the scenes.

Maybe he simply isn’t the right fit? Bills are built to win now and maybe they felt they needed continuity and experience? Webb is more of a fit for an organization with lesser expectations for next season? Just a thought.BoKnows81 wrote: Tue Jan 27, 2026 9:26 am Wonder why Bills went with Brady over Webb. It’s pending the Raiders head coach job so he’s not been told he’s out of the running by the Raiders.

None of that changes Joe Brady having like 6 plays in his arsenal. The only creative, one being the hook and ladder which they have run a handful of times successfully.WNYRAIDER wrote: Tue Jan 27, 2026 9:18 am ...i'm not so sure, despite McD's having given them some reasons over the recent years for cutting him loose, the promoting of the GM after his not finding a way to bolster anything where needed at the trade deadline, and including even making a trade for jakobi m, which could have been a difference maker, and then the owner talking sht about the now former coach, I'd imagine both the GM and the owner are going to be motivated to make it look like they 'were right' and that their actions were justified.
...either way, it won't be easy with the post rookie QB deal situation which always makes that increasingly difficult....

Could be that ownership feels the team is too close to a championship run to entrust the team to such a green candidate and feel more comfortable with Brady.BoKnows81 wrote: Tue Jan 27, 2026 9:26 am Wonder why Bills went with Brady over Webb. The Raiders only firing that looks bad on paper is Josh McDaniels, but if you look at his previous HC track record it doesn't look so bad. The Gruden situation is what it is, everyone knows all that happened there. Promoting Pierce was a mistake. He was clearly in over his head. That firing had to happen. Pete Carroll managed to make the team worse after having 100 mil in cap, 10 draft picks & getting his own hand picked vet QB he knows well. That was also his own pure negligence.
I only bring up McDaniels because the Raiders had a coaching search & he was the choice. It seemed to me he would get 3 years minimum I guess us what I'm saying, regardless of outcome. The ownership argument is also BS as many teams have multiple chefs in the kitchen. Tom Brady isn't your typical billionaire nerd investor owner. He's only the best QB who has ever played the game. If a candidate sees Tom Brady as a negative, that f[raiders_icon]cker doesn't need an NFL head coaching job

Taking all your responses into account, if the Bills wanted Brady, why not hire him immediately after firing McDermott? By immediately i mean after Rooney Rule satisfied. Odd IMO.

I wonder if Josh influenced the decision as wellRaidernation1979 wrote: Tue Jan 27, 2026 9:32 am None of that changes Joe Brady having like 6 plays in his arsenal. The only creative, one being the hook and ladder which they have run a handful of times successfully.

Josh Allen is lucky he hasn't had a serious injury. The Bills need to invest in a good backup. A one man team type of setup they have isn't going to win anything that matters

Considering he was supposed at or involved with at least one interview I would think so. In my opinion though players shouldn’t be involved in coaching decisions.
