The other factor that made the Mack trade different was that we traded Mack right before the season started with no plan, and with no benefit for that season at all. It makes it a much worse return - that would be more like trading Maxx now for a 2027 and 2028 draft pick instead of the 2026/2027.GoodTimeCharlie wrote: Sun Mar 08, 2026 12:24 am Good lord the pearl-clutching. Nobody literally “hates” the dude. He just annoys some folk. I don’t literally “hate” the neighbors boy, but if his soccer ball hits my house enough times, I go outside and stand there until he moves on to greener pastures.
It’s not the same, but there’s a vein. Some folk were early seeing Cur for what he was. Some folk just see through shit early. Maxx isn’t false, he’s just not nearly as cool as he thinks he is. Not a bad thing, but if you see it, then see it over and over, then hear the Bisaccia shit, the Pierce shit, and cap it off with the bball vid. Well, some folk, including myself, had seen and heard enough. Besides, it made logical sense to trade him. His age, his injury history, the return. Was a good deal.
The Mack trade disappointed the hell out of me. The Maxx trade doesn’t. With Mack it was partly because I had no faith in Gruden 2.0, but mostly cause I knew nothing about Mack besides his being a great f[raiders_icon]cking football player. First I ever heard from Mack is when he said Gruden never called him. I also know Maxx to be a great f[raiders_icon]cking football player, and I also know him as a kid that keeps hitting my house with a f[raiders_icon]cking soccer ball.
I’d bet this though. If we just had the Patriots season. Lots of lucky breaks, but we were in the Super Bowl. No one would want to trade Maxx.

I am really selective on player podcasts. I am also very selective on press conferences for players. Too many fans get triggered by that shit and you have to weed out way too much ego and desire to be relevant but the fans don't seem to do it. Ego is a thing, even for us poor scrubs. We just seem to hold the players to a much higher level of accountability when it comes to not keeping egos in check than we do with just us fans. Being humble and meek does not get clicks. Being uninteresting does not get clicks.WNYRAIDER wrote: Sun Mar 08, 2026 5:05 am I respect his non-stop efforts and contributions, and wish him well, when not against our interests. ...the stuff that seems to have rubbed most wrong more recently about him, (the pod cast, rap stuff, etc.) and which I am also not really a fan of, i frankly would know nothing about, were it not for having seen it here.

And that trade pissed off some fans simply because of how Mack was treated prior to the trade, coupled with the whole Antonio Brown shit which was already setting the season up for utter failure. Antonio Brown was the next season - when Mayock was GM. Mack was Gruden/Reggie.Attyla wrote: Sun Mar 08, 2026 5:18 am And that trade pissed off some fans simply because of how Mack was treated prior to the trade, coupled with the whole Antonio Brown shit which was already setting the season up for utter failure. Steve young only won one as starter.GoodTimeCharlie wrote: Sat Mar 07, 2026 8:47 pm Steve Young 3, Jalen Hurts 1, Russell Wilson 1. 5 of the last 50.
Then there’s the QBs who’ve been the passing yards leader in a season and how many Super Bowls they’ve won.
Tom Brady 7, Peyton Manning 2, Patrick Mahomes 3, Ben Roethlisberger 2, Drew Brees 1, Brett Favre 1, Kurt Warner 1, Matthew Stafford 1. 18 of the last 50.
I’m guessing if we each walked into a bar and slapped down 50 bucks, I got 18 beers back and you got 5, you’d have a hard time finding that fair.

I absolutely loved Maxx the Raider and think he's the most Raider Raider we've had in years. I'll miss him. I wish him the best. I hope he gets a one day contract to retire a Raider.
That said, I'm not watching a 13 minute video for anyone.

The over use of the term "hater" or "hate" is nauseating. It also sounds petulant as hellGoodTimeCharlie wrote: Sun Mar 08, 2026 12:24 am Good lord the pearl-clutching. The way you phrased your premise is a bit off. I think the question youre getting at is, "Does having a dual threat qb help or hurt your chances of winning a SB?" The qb doesnt have to be the actual rush leader that year does he? If 1 qb rushes for 1000 yards and another rushes for 900 and wins the SB, doesnt that count?GoodTimeCharlie wrote: Sat Mar 07, 2026 8:47 pm Steve Young 3, Jalen Hurts 1, Russell Wilson 1. 5 of the last 50.

#1. Steve Young only won 1 SB. Joe Montana won the other 2. So only 3 SB winning teams had dual threat qbs.
#2. You cant use 60 SBs as the denominator because the dual threat era didnt start until 1990ish with Steve Young. So use 36 as your denominator.
#3. Who are the dual threat qbs? Here's my list:
Lamar Jackson, Michael Vick, Cam Newton, Russell Wilson, Randall Cunningham, Josh Allen, Steve Young, Justin Fields, Kyler Murray, Jalen Hurts and Jayden Daniels. Eleven total spanning 36 years, and prolly shouldnt even include Daniels since he just started playing. So 10 dual threat qbs have won 3 SBs.
#4.And 33 SBs (11 times as many) were won by single threat qbs over the last 36 years.
#5.If there are exactly 110 or 11 times (110 = 11 x 10) as many single threat qbs as dual threat qbs, then having a dual threat qb wouldnt make a difference either way in the chance of winning a SB. If there are less than 11x as many, then having a dual threat qb would be a disadvantage. If there are more than 11x as many, then having a dual threat qb would be an advantage.
#6. How many single threat qbs have played since 1990? More than 110 or less than 110? There are 32 teams. Over the last 36 years has each team on average not had more than 4 different starting qbs? The team with the greatest stability at qb is GB. And they had three (Favre, Rodgers and Love) over the last 30 years. And that doesnt even go back 36 years. On the other side of the spectrum, Cle has had more than 30 different qbs over that span. If you go team by team and add it up, there are >>>>>>>>110 single threat qbs who have been NFL starters since 1990. So, as I wrote, dual threat qbs have won more than their share of SBs.
#7. I wouldnt find it fair if we each slapped down $50, but that's not what happened. Id be fine if you slapped down $80 and I slapped down $20.
