Offense looked good. Defense could use some work. Always good to get a win. Thoughts?

Contact powskiI am over the top happy at how well Glaze did this week. Im not anointing him anything yet, but I do think Dennison coaching him this year over what we had last year gives me hope where I had none before. Having at least a functional RT is so important. I am extremely happy to be wrong about his potential. If I am/was wrong, and I think I was, even though its still just one week and he still has his limitations.

Last year, the year before, and basically every year reaching back through time until we arrive at Gannon. We’ve had guys who put in the effort, but lacked the talent, and even worse, guys who had the talent, but gave shit useless effort.WNYRAIDER wrote: Wed Sep 16, 2026 3:30 am ....the 'little things'......like day and night from whatever that thing we had last year was...

Tyler Linderbaum, C, Las Vegas Raiders
The Raiders signed Linderbaum to a giant contract averaging $27 million in annual value this offseason. He was excellent in Week 1 against the Miami Dolphins, as new coach Klint Kubiak got his tenure started with a win. Linderbaum did not allow a pressure. He was a complete difference-maker in the run and pass games. The Raiders had a positive EPA per designed rush, according to TruMedia. They did not have such a game in 2025.
The Raiders allowed a pressure rate of 22.6 percent on quarterback Kirk Cousins. That was better than all but one game in 2025. Linderbaum looks like he will be a force multiplier for the Raiders’ offensive line. We will see how the Raiders perform against more talented fronts, starting in Week 2 against the Los Angeles Chargers.
Kwity Paye, edge, Las Vegas Raiders
The Raiders gave Paye $16 million per year in free agency. He had eight pressures in the Raiders’ Week 1 win over the Dolphins. Interestingly, the Raiders and defensive coordinator Rob Leonard rushed Paye from the interior in Sunday’s game when they got to three-edge-rusher packages. Maxx Crosby and Malcolm Koonce were on the edges on those looks. Paye’s pocket-pushing and motor really played up in these situations. A notable wrinkle that could elevate Paye’s production. It was not something he did often in Indianapolis.
A way on the side note.....

Dylan Parham, G, New York Jets
The Jets won their opener over the Tennessee Titans, and new offensive coordinator Frank Reich was clearly determined to establish the rushing attack in his first game calling plays. The Jets called designed runs on 65.6 percent of their early downs in the first 28 minutes of Sunday’s game, according to TruMedia. Jets backs Breece Hall and Braelon Allen combined for 142 rushing yards on 32 carries. Parham, who signed a two-year, $16 million deal with the Jets this offseason, played a big part in that performance as the starting left guard.
Reich was taking advantage of Parham’s athleticism by using him as a puller. Parham was very good as a run blocker. He also held his own in pass protection against Jeffery Simmons, one of the best interior rushers in football. The Jets have a solid group up front on offense, and they seem determined to lean on that strength in the running game.

So much evidence that Brennan Carroll was the worst offensive line coach in the history of the NFL

Parham wasn't a bad guard, he's just not big so he gets bullied. He's a technically sound blocker but doesn't have the power to put him in the elite tier. The Jets using him as a puller is smart.

I was looking at our line and then looked up their sizes on the official depth chart…we have a big line..love it
I know times have changed, but with this scheme they used to be smaller and more mobile…times have changed. We have monsters running this now
