Ok maybe this doesn’t need its own thread but the deadline is 5 weeks away. I know the next couple weeks will determine if we are buyers but let’s say we get to 5-2 do we make a move?
I really wish we still had Jakobi here but it sounds like a few guys might be available…
Brian Thomas Jr
Marvin Harrison Jr
Jerry Jeudy
Thoughts?

It could honestly be that he's not a fit for the system. We've seen it before.

Jeanty reminds me of Jacobs but a much better receiving threat. He doesn't have the burst to get outside on a consistent basis but is an instinctive heads up runner between the tackles. Just create holes and he will find and exploit them...

Hope he gets over the recent “dropsies” or he isn’t as good of a receiver as some might think. He’s killed a few drives with untimely drops

I would see if we can get 2 firsts for Maxx Crosby again, hes playing great. I think we are a couple of years away from being legitimate contenders.

Hard to believe some of you are giving up on Jeanty. This year has sucked, but even tho he’s hurt he is still helping receiving out of the backfield.
The line is horrible…horrible…last year and this year he gets hit behind the line more than anyone. The stats have shown it.
Do the doubters not see him getting hit immediately?
If you're trading Jeanty, then who are you replacing him with? It can't just be Washington Jr.

Honestly at this point, you can sign a scrub and get the same production as Jeanty is giving you right now. Im not writing him off but for a 6 overall pick, especially rb, the dude should be a game changer

Thats exactly it. Its not like you have to replace this substantial production. Im comfortable with Washington becoming RB1 but not with Laube as RB2.

IMO you have to be willing to trade players if the price is right. I still think Jeanty can be really good, but I'm not a big fan of big investments in RBs.
I know the odds are low of the team being willing to trade Cousins, but I'd still love to see it. I don't think this team is really competing this season, and he's gone next year anyway. That would be the trade I'd be happiest with.

The best time to make a trade was a few weeks ago, but this week is our last chance. If we win, they can still make some moves for this season and beyond, if not then just save the picks and maybe try and get some assets for players who will not be here long term.

I am not going to be a Monday morning QB in regards to Jeanty (or any player for that matter). No Monday morning QB has ever been wrong. I still think a Jeanty/Washington combo can be one of the leagues best. I have never been a fan of drafting RB's because of their shelf life and because of their pecking order in terms of franchise tag contracts (the lowest position player tag contract just above kickers/punters). I still believe this is a throw away season. Its more about player development and seeing what exactly what we need going forward. I do not think we should have been so high after the first few games or so low now. Our schedule becomes brutal and all I want to see is competitive play (record be damned) and getting kids some reps. Hopefully we are sellers and can acquire some draft and cap capital for next season.

I looked at the dead money, that won't be happening. They married him this off-season.
21.5 million signing bonus can be spread thru 2 yrs ...plus these days teams are eating much larger contract to get rid of player and get high draft pick for the future

No, this would be a move for a contender, not a rebuilder
vita is signed thru 2027 his salary in 2027 is only 24 million and his 2026 salary is a mere 1.5 million making him a bargain for 2 yrs, tampa is responsible for the signing bonus and dead cap which can be spread over 2 yrs

OTC shows a 50 million dead cap hit, that seems like a lot to me even if spread out.
