my definition has always been the same....whichever one I'm banging is the hottest one on the planet. And proving that the "eye" of the beholder is everything, my friends subsequently consider the same girl to be the most hideous, even if just hours before they found her hot.

There is another phenomenon I call "Boner goggles" that causes men to do things they regret in the light of day ....
Reminds me of a story about a guy I used to camp with at medieval reenactments:
He was known to get a Lot of tail, as all camped in the neighborhood were familiar of the way his tent swayed.
But one night me and a buddy decided to stagger into the woods to take a pee (as the porta-johns we're too far away) and we stumbled upon this guy in mid-hump with a woman we had nick-named "Loki's Surprise".
... Cuz if you were with her, the Norse God's we're playing a trick on you.
He tried but could not use beer goggles as an excuse, we knew him and his tolerence level too well after years of revelry.
We teased him a bit ... but I truly believe it was his own shame of that moment that brought on his bought of alcoholism.
Never saw him again. Just heard stories of his downward spiral.
