MLB Off Season 2026-2027
To start off, mostly likely a long lockout.
My team (Yankees), need improvement in the catcher position, center field and 3rd base. Starters are excellent and relief might need some adjustments. Stanton is huge question mark do to health. Judge need to get back too.
Oh and fire Boone.

LA is aging out on a few of their players. Tough times because they are staples to their past success and well liked but it’s time

MLB’s ardent push for a salary cap is now coming with a new inducement as it tries to win over highly skeptical players: a one-year delay in the implementation of a hard cap and floor.
As part of ongoing negotiations between the league and MLB Players Association, management has proposed a delay in starting a cap-based system until 2028. That’s a sizable change from the intended 2027 beginning of a cap that had been formally proposed in late May and has been the foundation of team owners’ labor platform in the five-plus months since then.
With the proposed delay, club owners have also offered to change the prior offer of a $245.3 million salary cap to $258.2 million, while also lifting the initial floor from a prior $171.2 million to $180.2 million.
Even with that change, 12 clubs would need to increase their payroll by a combined $636 million, based on 2026 luxury-tax payrolls, a group that includes the defending World Series champion Brewers and American League pennant winner Rays. Eight clubs, meanwhile, would need to reduce payroll by a combined $528 million, most notably the Dodgers, who had a 2026 luxury-tax payroll of $433 million.
