Allen's flip for a TD was a superstar play. The D contained him well all day, but had they stayed down near the end zone, Allen could've run it in for a TD. It was a damned if you do, damned if you don't play. He's one of the best, if not the best QB in the league for a reason.Raider_Dave wrote: Mon Oct 19, 2026 1:37 pm It aint just tackling. There's a lot of stupidity displayed on defense. Just horrible football instincts.
2 plays stuck out like a massive sore thumb to me. The Allen flip for a TD pass. Watch the replay from behind Allen. As he starts to run towards the line of scrimmage, not 1 defender, not 2 defenders, but 3 defenders very close to each other break off coverage and go for him leaving the receiver uncovered. Good lord, when we were kids playing in the park with no coach or even grown up around we had enough sense in a situation like that to communicate, and 1 guy take ball and the other the receiver. There were 3 of them and they all went for the same shit. That's ignorance.
The other play was that late screen to Cooks around the end. Our entire defense just collapsed into the center for no reason.
Amazing athletes with NO instincts. Hard to watch that garbage.
The other shit though, yes, that was inexcusable. We've been getting torched in the flats for three weeks straight now. That's on coaching and the players. I tend to blame coaching more because it's gone on for so long.

Disagree, you trade in the Pinto and get a Lexus. The Lambo wont drive in the snow. Without a top 10-15 defense there will be no long playoff runs. With out current offense, if the defense could keep teams under 24 we would have a winning record already.mranquales wrote: Mon Oct 19, 2026 1:22 pm Because you wash the Lambo, not the Pinto.
Our offense is a WR1 away (and maybe a guard prospect for insurance) from being a legit playoff contender. The NFL is an offensive league, so you get further fine-tuning your offense rather than overhauling the defense. There's nothing that can be done when you have a weak front four featuring an overrated player.
It would take too many seasons and too many pieces to get our defense right. Besides, a great offense keeps the defense fresh, gives the defense a lead to protect, and allows them to pin their ears back and pass rush.
One offseason gives us a completed offensive unit.
They have to address some offensive needs, but the defense now needs to be a priority.
162 points is 27 points a game which is outstanding.
Giving up 162 points is a crime.
The Bills have a great offense, but their defense will keep them out of the Superbowl.

All that too and more. They also had a successful freakish hail mary 10+ yard backhand flip for a TD. This definitely was a winnable game. Defense needs to tighten up. ~110 points in 3 games aint gonna cut it, even considering the teams we played. Maybe we got a good shot at the Rams after all.Steve007 wrote: Sun Oct 18, 2026 10:52 pm Also had 1st and goal around the 1 and couldn’t get it in after a defender blew by the guard on 2nd down and tackled the back for a loss and then White dropped a td pass.
Didn’t Jeanty drop a pass in the red zone and we ended to kicking a fg? A catch there changes the sequences of plays after that and it could have easily led to a td.
This team could easily have 4 or 5 wins if the team was a little bit better.

I agree, the Raiders DO need a top 15 defense to truly compete. However, in order to focus on our defense, we need to first spend our top pick on a WR1.Rabidraider wrote: Mon Oct 19, 2026 1:47 pm Disagree, you trade in the Pinto and get a Lexus. The Raiders have drafted: Darien Porter, Tonka Hemmingway, JJ Pegues, Treydan Stukes, Hezekiah Masses, ect. The Raiders have brought in Jeremy Chinn, Erik Stokes, Nakobe Dean, Quay Walker, Kwity Paye, ect. The Raider have made a strong effort in overhauling the defense, but it's still not good enough.
The Raiders have used higher picks on offense (Bowers, Mendoza, Jeanty) but overall have put more resources into the defense. The Raiders are not one high pick away from having a top 15 defense, but they ARE one high pick away from having a top 10 offense.

To be fair, on that series:Steve007 wrote: Sun Oct 18, 2026 10:52 pm Also had 1st and goal around the 1 and couldn’t get it in after a defender blew by the guard on 2nd down and tackled the back for a loss and then White dropped a td pass.
Washington didn't see the wide-open lane to the left, so he ran up the gut for minimal/no-gain. Kubiak calls a heavy-set formation with Jeanty, and instead of calling play-action and fooling the defense, he calls an easy-to-read hand off and Jeanty gets stuffed.
On third down White dropped the TD pass that was perfectly thrown to his chest.
All of our skill players sold on that series.

They currently already have the second highest scoring team in the NFL.mranquales wrote: Mon Oct 19, 2026 2:13 pm I agree, the Raiders DO need a top 15 defense to truly compete. However, in order to focus on our defense, we need to first spend our top pick on a WR1.

Last three #1 have been offense. If we draft in the middle of the first round most top wideouts will be gone.
They need to focus on the defense.
Defense wins Championships...

Im fine with taking a wr with our 1st pick. But a NT with our 2nd pick would make a huge difference in plugging up the run defense. Get an OG in FA.mranquales wrote: Mon Oct 19, 2026 1:22 pm Because you wash the Lambo, not the Pinto.

I said it yesterday. The defense lacks discipline. And that's a huge concern but expected from a 1st year D coordinator. Aside from NT and Kwity Paye, the talent is there IMO.

Get off your Harrison fairy tale. He played his ass off in his 1st game with them but he will backslide.mranquales wrote: Mon Oct 19, 2026 1:22 pm Because you wash the Lambo, not the Pinto.

We need line thousand times more than your ridiculous comment that a 2nd would be a great deal for that guy.
We'll get a road grading guard with our 2.

City of Oakland is an insane asylum run by the inmates. Clearly a most dysfunctional city. Having said that, Mark lied to the fans faces. The day he said to the camera that he was going to do everything he can to keep the Raiders in Oakland he was on a plane to LA trying his damndest to get a deal there. If that was his intention then don’t lie to me….but he went the pussy route.Opoponax50 wrote: Mon Oct 19, 2026 9:11 am This seems to be something most people conveniently forget. The city of Oakland practically pushed them out. Say what you will about Mark Davis, but he tried hard to keep the team in Oakland. At some point, when faced with, "F*** you" or "I can make the team billions of dollars more" you take the billion dollar path.
If this team becomes a winner, a lot fewer opposing fans are going to show up. So far, it's been a bucket list trip for them; Las Vegas and seeing their team win in a state of the art stadium is a pretty sweet vacation.
Water under the bridge today. I’m glad for the first time in decades there seems to be a solid plan and functional rebuild happening g so I’m happy with that.

Raiders currently have a Top 10 Offense. If they can figure the run game out, they could be a Top 3 Offense.
The defense is sort of middle of the pack at the moment. They're good enough to put heat on the bad teams, but have been folding against the best teams.
Getting more pressure from the defensive line would work wonders.

Are people forgetting that when this offence had a chance to put 14 on the Bills either side of the half they came up with just 3 points, you get in the endzone wither side of the half you go from being level to being two scores up
As for the run game a question that needs to be asked is when do we start mixing it up giving Washington more of the ball & taking away from Jeanty
My problem with the D is with it being the 3rd youngest starting D in the NFL it was always going to be shaky, ot has it’s blame but it was always going to be up & down

Nobody is forgetting any of that and most of it has been said, repeatedly. But the bottom line is 30 points should be enough to win against any NFL team if you have an average defense or better. Our defense is bad right now.CWood24 wrote: Mon Oct 19, 2026 3:34 pm Are people forgetting that when this offence had a chance to put 14 on the Bills either side of the half they came up with just 3 points, you get in the endzone wither side of the half you go from being level to being two scores up

30 points every game would put you at 2-4 against the bills.

I've held this position about attaining a WR1 since the beginning of the season, and stated as such, before Harrison was even a topic of conversation.raider_kin wrote: Mon Oct 19, 2026 3:21 pm Get off your Harrison fairy tale. He played his ass off in his 1st game with them but he will backslide.

Sure, a WR1 with the first pick and a guard/NT with our 2nd wouldn't bother me at all.
