College Football Thread - 2026

It’s that time of year for us to dog fight about who’s college team is better.

Best way to start it out IMO is with the preseason coaches poll that just dropped:

Preseason Coaches Poll
1.Ohio State
2.Oregon
3.Georgia
4.Texas
5.Notre Dame
6.Indiana
7.Miami
8.Texas A&M
9.Oklahoma
10.Ole Miss
11.Alabama
12.Texas Tech
13.LSU
14.USC
15.BYU
16.Michigan
17.Penn State
18.Tennessee
19.Washington
20.SMU
21.Utah
22.Iowa
23.Clemson
24.Houston
25.Missouri

We all know who are backing after that last few years but the 2026 season is almost upon us.

For my own part, this year is special I’m attending my first home game ever at ND on 9/12.

Notre Dame dodged BYU in the Pop Tarts Bowl last year.

They couldn't avoid their fate.

Yep. It was pretty clear on the replay and I agree, there was no way the refs were going to call that on the last play of the game.

ND mental mistakes throughout is what cost them. That and having to settle for FGs as the stats showed they shut down BYU for almost the entire second half.

Either way good game and a weekend of crazy upsets.

Great day of college football.

Army won.

Navy and Notre Dame lost.

Unfortunately, Air Force won. But you can't have it all.

They should be #1, imo. Best win of the candidates.

Oh well, polls are virtually meaningless nowadays.

Congrats and enjoy.

With the way Michigan is playing this year, I'm calling it now, Michigan will go after Kentucky head coach Will Stein.

"It was a historic day in college football. According to ESPN Research, it was the first time since 1936, when the AP poll began, that five of the top-seven teams lost on a single day."

Doesn't really matter. ND should have played better, especially the first half and they wouldn't have been in that situation.

Yeah I can't really can't comment on Alabama other than to say they should be plummeting down the rankings. I won't be surprised when they don't however.

That stat up thread dating back to 1936 is crazy that so many teams in the Top 10 lost.

All kidding aside the rankings are likely going to have to shift a LOT. There is no way they can rank Texas and Alabama in the Top 10 with so many teams losing besides them. Look at Tennessee, they were #14, Kentucky at #17.

That said I expect Texas at #11, Alabama at #12.

And if it does pan out that way? I want to know who the ex-WWE writers are behind the scenes.
