The Off. Line - Complaints, Fixes, Questions, Draft
Mike Tice once said while coaching for the Raiders: “If you look at the offense like a fancy car, the offensive line is the engine. Even though we might have nice spinners and nice rims and tinted windows and some neat paint job, it doesn’t mean crap without the engine. If the engine’s not working, the car might look like a pretty nice car, but it’s a piece of crap.” And he was 100% right. I wish we had him back. Changes must be made on the O-line. Charles Grant is a very athletic lineman. We should give him some reps at right tackle. Bring back Powers-Johnson as the starter at center. Parham has got to go. Maybe we should consider moving Meredith back to guard. He did so well there last year.

Geno has always been sacked a lot. Him holding the ball too long and processing things too slow have a lot to do with it. Not saying the line didn't play awful as wellRunOverByHubbard wrote: Wed Oct 07, 2026 7:45 pm It means that Cousins has only been sacked 5 times in 4 games including zero sacks by the Chiefs (although they hit him hard a few times). Last years, Geno Smith was sacked 55 times or about 3.5 times per game (he played in 16 games). Of our curiosity how many times has Smith been sacked so far this year with the Jets....poor dude has been sacked 12 times already.

Kirk has big balls (I did not know he had them). His pocket presence is off the charts. He has been masterful in stepping into the pocket or rolling out and buying time. He scans the entire field while doing so (unlike that last shit bum who held on to the ball way to long and did not take his eyes off the initial read ultimately throwing into triple coverage). Cousins is getting crushed (he took 10 hits this past week). Nobody can consistently endure such a beating (especially at his age). I prefer Fernando play when it is planned and not because of injury.FLORIDARAYDAH wrote: Thu Oct 08, 2026 2:48 am Geno has always been sacked a lot. He's a what, 14 year vet, you can't teach old ponies new tricks, but you can develop young players from old ponies. Extending route trees, understanding defenses, finding gaps in their spacing, being aware as one of the eligible receivers(Jeanty), being smart with blocks, create space, instead of collapsing the pocket It is day and night watching Carr and Cousins. Carr may have an incredible completion rate, but I will take Cousins ugly stats any day of the week.RI RAIDER wrote: Thu Oct 08, 2026 5:54 am Kirk has big balls (I did not know he had them). We have a league worse 31.9% of our runs stopped at or behind the line of scrimmage. That is total ASS.

It's definitely our guards. One pass blocks adequately but stinks in run blocking. The other run blocks ok but can't protect our QB.RI RAIDER wrote: Sat Oct 10, 2026 3:18 am We have a league worse 31.9% of our runs stopped at or behind the line of scrimmage. That is total ASS.

People really need to stop claiming Cousins doesnt have time or that our pass blocking is bad. Our pass blocking has been excellent. Our run blocking however is super bad

Not against any good teams yet. Pass blocking was fine against the winless teamsDanKD wrote: Wed Oct 14, 2026 1:21 pm People really need to stop claiming Cousins doesnt have time or that our pass blocking is bad. Our pass blocking has been excellent. Our run blocking however is super bad

If this is true, then Kubiak needs to nut up and tell him he's sitting a week or two or until he can be effective when he plays. You don't let the player decide, especially when he's been fairly ineffective

Jeanty looked gimpy a couple of weeks ago but seemed fine last Sunday. He just had nowhere to run again

@NFLrums is not a source. If it's not been reported by someone reputable, then it's almost definitely them throwing shit against the wall. It's possible it's true, but that's simply because if you make enough shit up, some of it will turn out to be true.
