The Run Game
Why is it so poor?
Is the OL?
Is Jeanty not seeing the holes?
We need a legit WR to open things up?
Please advise.

I think Jeanty is beinc both under and overated. I have not seen a generational back at all and hes been a bit disappointing. However our run blocking is a far far bigger issue. We just absolutely suck in that department

Regarding our run blocking, Washington is averaging 5.0 yards per carry and always seems to get positive yardage. Jeanty on the other hand is averaging 3.3 yards per carry. I agree our run blocking hasn't been great but sometimes you gotta go with the hot hand to help the line. That little bit of explosiveness Washington has goes a long way.DanKD wrote: Tue Oct 13, 2026 4:30 pm I think Jeanty is beinc both under and overated. I agree that washingtons run style epsecially with jeanty banged uo lends itself more for poor run blocking but he also has far fewer carries. Id like to let washington be the rb1 wjile jeanty sits and gets healthy.BoKnows81 wrote: Tue Oct 13, 2026 4:41 pm Regarding our run blocking, Washington is averaging 5.0 yards per carry and always seems to get positive yardage. Not that I enjoy seeing this as much as I do, but the teams we beat are a combined 1-14. It was fun getting those 3 wins. It was fun pumping my fist in the air and feeling good watching a Raiders football game. Quickened the heart rate. The losses? Meh. I’m far too use to that experience for it to create even a ripple. It does remind me though…
The cupboard on this team had nothing more than a breadcrumb and a dead roach. As another poster said, we’ve got a lot of shopping to do. We’ve got a Head Coach, our GM had his first legitimate draft without interference from our bumblefuck owner or a blue plate special stubborn meddling old head, we’ve got our franchise QB. Some of the very basic necessities have been bought.
I say this hoping there’s a little memo reminding everyone at Raider HQ that one of the biggest failures out of last year was not playing the young guys. They’re gonna make mistakes. It’s how we goofy humans learn best. So take the lumps. Get them some experience, and yes, that means even if they’re not stellar at Pass Pro.
I said before, we’re no longer a “bad” team. We now beat the bad teams as a “not good” team. The 3 wins were great, but let’s not hamstring our future losing sight of the value of experience.

Wow...I'm surprise and shocked so many want to blame our RB's and then divide the team. The truth is that our OL has sucks for several years now. I'm sorry but some folks on here have to be shitting me....they all suck and have. Miller is past his good years and on the decline, Burford has always f[raiders_icon]cking sucked and still does, we overpaid for TL and he isn't an exceptional player that will transform the OL as you have to put other solid players around him and we haven't, PERIOD, JPJ is NOT the answer and Rogers isn't either, he has sucked when he's been in overall, Glaze is NOT a RT and certainly not a high level or elite RT. So please explain how our running game is gonna improve with this BS? I don't care if we march Barry Sanders and Emmitt Smith out there, we f[raiders_icon]cking suck!
At this point I'd go Grant and cut Miller after the year or trade him, trade JPJ as it is too many issues and problem, move Glaze to RG and then draft a RT or possible LT and move Grant to RT.
I hate to sound like that guy but with the guys I'd have drafted in the past couple years, we'd at least have an OL to compete with in the NFL. Right now, we are in serious trouble!

Kubiak has trying to get the ball to Jeanty in space to make plays but this hands have been suspect. I keep watching them give the ball to Jeanty in that stretch play off tackle. I would like to see Washington be given more carries with that look.

Jeanty's route running is good enough that I think you need to keep feeding him targets. He'll never have WR hands but he can be good enough to be a serious threat in the passing game. As for the off tackle runs, I do think those plays highlight how hobbled Jeanty is. He really lacks the initial burst to get around the edge. While I don't think Washington is the antidote to our run game woes that most believe him to be, we should absolutely shut Jeanty down until he's 100% and give Washington an opportunity to prove he can handle more responsibilities.Reno Hightower wrote: Tue Oct 13, 2026 8:22 pm Kubiak has trying to get the ball to Jeanty in space to make plays but this hands have been suspect. I don't think anyone is fully blaming the RBs. Plenty are critical of the O line. Me personally, I think it's a combination of Jeanty not being healthy, the lack of usage of Washington and the O line struggling to move people. Thats why I would like to see Washington more just for his explosiveness, which should ease things a little for the O line. Laube does not deserve snaps at RB IMO. I mean are we really supposed to believe that a 5'9 204 lb RB is that much better than a 6'2 228 lb RB at pass protection, to the point the bigger guy is limited to 1 carry?Coach dd 11 wrote: Tue Oct 13, 2026 6:53 pm Wow...I'm surprise and shocked so many want to blame our RB's and then divide the team. Burford need to be benched….he making Miller and the Center job that much harder; he actually almost the worst guard in the NFL by pro football focus

...and with that water under the bridge, now we see what they do, or not, to try and fix it. ..in my view, we have better options on the team already, and should go that route ASAP, to better know what we have, and do not have, and need, moving forward.

Yep. This isn't just a rebuild year, it's an experimental one.WNYRAIDER wrote: Wed Oct 14, 2026 6:27 am ...and with that water under the bridge, now we see what they do, or not, to try and fix it. ..in my view, we have better options on the team already, and should go that route ASAP, to better know what we have, and do not have, and need, moving forward.
Are the players we drafted in 2025 any good?
No one knows, so we need to find out. They need a chance to show what they can do in a legitimate system. Then we can eventually evaluate what's needed for the offseason.

Missing some creativity IMO too. Not a lot of presnap motion or preshifts. Watch the 49ers under Shannahan create rush lanes for their backs. I was excited about Kubiak's play calling but it has gotten a bit stale.
For the life of me too, I don't understand the reason we don't run screens with the blitzes thrown at us repeatedly.
