He obviously doesn’t have his burst right now..but I saw it last year in a few games even with that shit blocking. Teams are still loading up and our guards are poo..still getting hit behind the line often. I have faith in Kubiak to get him going.

It’s the ankle. I watched more of last year, and though Jeanty doesn’t necessarily “turn on the jets”, he does “bounce” from those tree trunk thighs, and “spring” from the calves/ankles.
It’s not just evident in the rushes, it shows up a bunch in the pass blocking. Jeanty is good at blocking despite his size, but what’s happening so far this year is he’s damn near getting juked due to his ankle weakness not allowing him to mirror the pass rusher.
It’s pretty easy to imagine a military man’s son not wanting to even think about weakness. Especially with the hoopla when the injury first occurred. Could be Jeanty found that a touch embarrassing. On top of that, Washington has looked great in his few opportunities. (I can’t speak to his pass blocking. Haven’t seen enough.)
I would prefer Jeanty got that ankle right before carrying such a load, but I understand why he isn’t. Thing is, Kubiak is a two back guy. Even if Jeanty was 100% healthy, Kubiak is gonna work some Washington in, and it’s gonna increase the more experience Washington gets. That’s what Coach wants.
Get that ankle right Jeanty. We need you 100% more than we need you.

Jeanty will find his grove. He just needs rushing attempts, Washington's potential is encouraging.

No he is not. But that is football. Is he hurt or injured. If he is injured, they need to sit him until he is not. If he is hurt, he should play. By week three in a season, lots of guys are hurt.

As it stands right now having two good RBs? What’s the issue?

Personally, I want the healthy one to play and see if more carries translates into better numbers.Willmark wrote: Tue Sep 29, 2026 6:40 am As it stands right now having two good RBs? What’s the issue?

I think that's the biggest part of the problem. Last year when he was injury-free, he was slippery, could bounce it outside, and when given the opportunity to get to the second level, he was a compact wrecking ball.
We're not seeing him do that this season and it's not because he isn't trying. The kid worked his ass off during the offseason and he's competitive as hell, but he's playing at maybe 75% because his ankle is injured. Not hurt, but injured. There's a difference.

Jeanty has looked "ok" but I dont know how anyone can watch these three games and think he looks like the elite RB he was projected to be when he was taken in the top 10 overall. Hopefully he may just be finding some rhythm after the terrible line play last year or his ankle has been an issue. Still early and he hasnt been bad just very pedestrian. Hopefully he starts showing some more juice

I honestly believe its a combo of things. He is not 100%, but when is anyone once a season starts (especially a RB). Our OL has not done a good job run blocking. He clearly has not played up to norm (the dropsies have nothing to do with being injured). That generational talent that he was pegged with is a HIGH bar. He looked like that against D-3 Miami, but then came back down to Earth. I think Washington is going to steal more and more carries from him as the season progresses (a GREAT problem to have).

I’m pretty sure someone already posted this around here somewhere, but this is what made me think the ankle is a bigger issue than Jeanty is admitting. A healthy Jeanty isn’t blowing people up, but he is staying in front of them.

The last one he got us a first down +15 yards.GoodTimeCharlie wrote: Tue Sep 29, 2026 5:02 pm I’m pretty sure someone already posted this around here somewhere, but this is what made me think the ankle is a bigger issue than Jeanty is admitting. He definitely did against the Dolphins. 150 APY and 2 TDs.DanKD wrote: Tue Sep 29, 2026 11:28 am Jeanty has looked "ok" but I dont know how anyone can watch these three games and think he looks like the elite RB he was projected to be when he was taken in the top 10 overall.
The Dolphins were the best run defense we've faced of the three teams. The Chargers were ranked 6th when we played them and have since dropped to around 15-16. Washington didn't do anything against the Chargers, and when I analyzed the data, actually played worse than Jeanty carry for carry. The Saints were the worst defense we've faced, literally bottom 5, and that's the game everyone thinks Washington showed he's the better back-- against the 5th worst run defense in the entire NFL.RI RAIDER wrote: Tue Sep 29, 2026 11:41 am He looked like that against D-3 Miami, but then came back down to Earth.
