Offense looked good. Defense could use some work. Always good to get a win. Thoughts?

Futusaki is a guy to monitor. Strong crafty vet can play, didn't make the Texans but that defense is elite.

Hurray -- an opening day, good looking win.

Highs:
Punting - Cole is just damn good.
QB Cousins -- steady job
Jeanty -- remember his film from college? He is showing today.
The O-line: adding Burford and Linderbaum was good stuff
Dean: Hey, finally -- a good looking LB
Gay: Solid kicking day and he was definitely a question mark coming into the season
Receiving corps-- well not a high, but OK
Mayer -- good job done and we'll need that for a few weeks.

Lows:
Giving up too much running yards between the tackles
Koonce: unless I missed something, he did not look like 2024 season at all
Maxx -- pretty darn average game for him. He'll get better though
Cousins -- deep balls

I think we were all wondering why Washington wasn't taking more a load in the 4th quarter.

Good:

Kubiak : one game but lived up to expectations. First time in a while it felt like the better mind was on our sideline. Great offensive gameplan. Team looked prepared. A+

offensive line : compared to last year so far it’s night and day. Jeanty actually had some lanes and Kirk geberally stayed upright.

Jeanty : continues to be a stud

offseason additions : Kwity had a good game with a pair of sacks. Linebackers played well especially dean. Stukes looked f[raiders_icon]cking awesome especially given he’s a safety convert in his first game.

I honestly don’t have much in the bad category. We left points on the field and really it seemed like we dominated Miami on both sides of the ball. Kirk played well though it’s definitely fair to wonder how much juice he’s got left in his arm.

Half the league got a slot today and the Raiders were in the other half. Not saying we are playoff bound but it was nice to look like professional team. After last year,

1 Kirk had a really good first half but his arm started to fall off in the second, hopefully that is not a thing this year. Better team than the Dolphins will punch in the gift he gave them,

2 it was good to see Klint do something we have not seen in while from our coach, out the balls in the hands of his playmakers.

3 Jenaty showed what he can do today. It must have been nice to not get touched in the backfield every play. O line looked night and day different from last year.

4 defense was outstanding. It’s a pity they could not get that safety.

5 k have seen people say Maxx was average. He didn’t need to be Superman today with how the other players were doing,

6 props to then crowd. It feels like a real home field today. For the first time since 2022 at the earliest.

Great feeling starting the season with a win. Overall a solid performance by the team (albeit against a bad team). They seem well drilled and the outcome was never in doubt after we scored.

Jeanty and the o-line seem improved and the special teams were significantly better.

Klint had the team look like an actual professional NFL team. Raiders actully made the game boring as Miami had no chance. A step in the right direction.

Yeah, I forgot about that, my bad. Then I don't know why the running game was shut down in the latter part of this game. When Cousins started throwing those long incompletions I felt like the win was being fumbled.

Maxx had 1.5 sacks, in what world is that average?

An average of 1.5 sacks per game over 17 games would beat the all time single season sack record...

I know there's more to his position than sacks, but c'mon now.

I'm pretty stoked to be reinvested into franchise. Not that I wasn't a fan, but the older I get - and with kids - it was hard trying to sit down and get emotionally invested into a franchise that you knew was just putting out a shit product. I watched but there was no way I was going to let it ruin my Sunday. There were times it did when I was younger.

So happy we have Kubiak. I was most stoked about his running scheme and his ability to get guys in space. We finally have a coach who runs a modern-style offense. His style will instill confidence in the guys. Watching this team grow is gonna be fun as well.

Not to say either that this team is perfect. Offense got kinda stagnant once Miami started loaded up the box. Cousins made some Cousins type plays (both good and bad). That last INT was him forcing it when there was nothing there. We're missing Bowers' presence IMO. I do look forward to seeing Mendoza eventually getting some playing time and seeing him grow.

Team isn't elite but I trust the coaches to put out a reallg competitive team. Something we haven't gotten to say in a long ass time.
