Brock Bowers to miss a few games after Knee procedure.
Ouch. Top weapon gone for a few games.

How is this a gimme? Game is considered a toss up. In what reality does this year's team have a gimme?DeathStar24 wrote: Thu Sep 10, 2026 4:15 am Not that any game is a gimmie, but this one against Miami was a close to one as they'll get. I think they still can win, but I can see them screwing the pooch.

Feels like this injury from last year has been handled poorly and now its a genuine question will Bowers ever truly have a healthy season. Really sucks because he is a HOF talent.

When 15% of your game day roster are players tossed off rosters of other teams? I am never going to say a game is a gimme but even my Phins fan brother does not recognize some of the starters on his team by name.FLORIDARAYDAH wrote: Thu Sep 10, 2026 6:37 am How is this a gimme? I feel pretty good we win this one without Bowers.

A Physiotherapist joined Ted Nguyen on his podcast and talked about Bowers.
Key takeaways:
Don't assume what you don't know (duh), and don't blame the coaches/trainers unless you actually know what's going on. Or go ahead and blame, but don't be surprised if nobody listens to you or cares.
It appears that it's the same knee as his PCL injury last season.
A meniscus trim can occasionally cause a player to miss just a couple of weeks, but this guy's NFL database suggests that 4-6 weeks is more typical and if you come back in a couple of weeks you're likely still going to have swelling and discomfort and less effectiveness.
I'm not going to say we should hold him out for a specific period of time, but I have no interest in seeing him rushed back before he's fully recovered. Bowers himself has to contribute to that process by being transparent with respect to what he's feeling, and the staff needs to make sure he knows that they want him fully healthy before taking the field.
Like with starting Cousins ahead of Mendoza, this is another opportunity to place 2027 results as more important than 2026. That's what I support, and I hope the team and players have the same approach.
If you find yourself playing the blame game on this, I'd suggest listening to the podcast and learning a little about how to realistically and professionally analyze something with the actual information you have instead of just making shit up and calling it a fact.

Not that teams aren't trying to win but if their were to be a lock for a team tanking it's for sure Miami.FLORIDARAYDAH wrote: Thu Sep 10, 2026 6:37 am How is this a gimme? Game is considered a toss up. In what reality does this year's team have a gimme?![]()

...and I expect our starting o line to play pretty well, and if they do, we have some ways to move the ball. ...its about as good a first opponent as we could have hoped for with so many new, moving parts, even without bowers, and while our next up tight end might not be Bowers, he could probably start of on quite a few teams in the league...Attyla wrote: Thu Sep 10, 2026 6:47 am When 15% of your game day roster are players tossed off rosters of other teams? with the qb crop coming out having the #1 pick isn't a must, so getting a few wins may not harm you much at allDeathStar24 wrote: Thu Sep 10, 2026 6:53 am Not that teams aren't trying to win but if their were to be a lock for a team tanking it's for sure Miami.

Sure it dampens the enthusiasm for the team getting off to a good start but If he misses 4-6 weeks it's not the end of the world. Probably the most important thing here is that he's fully healthy when Mendoza gets into action. They are likely going to be in good position to draft a very good player in the 1st round if the QB class is as good as it's been hyped. This is also a really good opportunity for Mayer to show what he can do in the Kubiak offense so hopefully he takes full advantage of this opportunity.
