Yes intended as a joke. You said we should curb our enthusiasm and that’s Larry David from the show “curb your enthusiasm”. Also your comment about more or less tempering early expectations so I thought it was funny, a gif from the show you intentionally or unintentionally referenced saying don’t be happy around me. Not saying that’s literally you, it was a Larry David amplified version of “temper your expectations”raidersince63 wrote: Sat Aug 22, 2026 7:44 am ???^^^ Was that supposed to be somehow applied to what I said?

Gotcha...You know, I just never really got into Larry David so I'm kinda unfamiliar...but that's just me.raiders93 wrote: Sat Aug 22, 2026 11:59 am Yes intended as a joke. All good brother I figured the reference didn’t land if you’re not a curb guy. At which point I may have just came across as a cunt posting “no being happy around me” in response to a pretty reasonable/grounded post from youraidersince63 wrote: Sat Aug 22, 2026 12:13 pm Gotcha...You know, I just never really got into Larry David so I'm kinda unfamiliar...but that's just me.![]()

Like hell we do.DanKD wrote: Sat Aug 22, 2026 9:15 am Our WR room is definitely weak. We are going to need (and I think we get it) elite production from Bowers, Mayer, Jeanty and Washington.
Next offseason we need to get a #1 receiver level talent in the draft.
DT first.

I can see receiver in the first round because NT's usually don't fall much in the first so getting one in the second really is an option at getting a day one starter. And this next draft, while not deep per se is top heavy with good talent. With the log jam of QB's likely next year, it is going to push down good talent. Top end of the second should be loaded with some good options.

I'm not sure our WR room is as bad as some may think, could they be better? Of course. But their numbers are partly because Bowers isn't playing right now. Once he is in the lineup it should make things easier for our WRs...I'm not trying to make excuses for someone the drops in preseason, maybe they were due to flat out receiver error, I'm not sure.
But possibly, something else to consider is that these WRs have been trying to make catches from 4 different QBs with different spin rates and velocities during camp and 3 different QBs in the first 2 preseason games. That could be a factor...I dunno.
But again, once the season starts along with Bowers, Jeanty, and Maxx, et al, I'm confident that the team as a whole, will look different.
Also, keep in mind that Kubiak's system is a "run first" design and if the run game fails, just like last year, so will the passing game.

That's a little crazy, buy also a good thing, these QB's need more time.

It's crazy what they make. Can we still call it college? It's minor league football. They don't even pretend to be students any more. Not that they ever were but at least they pretended in the past
