Raiders Go To Texas Tonight, The Game Day Thread
So here is another look at the new team, and hopefully the view is better, especially on the D.
What are you watching, what are you wanting, and most importantly we need to get out of there without harm to anyone.
Time to see more, and hopefully a few of the youngsters start to shine.

Fernando Mendoza is going to be an NFL superstar. Just takes time and everyone is expecting him to be Peyton Manning/John Elway/Troy Aikman right out of the chute. Go back and look at early days for those guys.
Two Benson drops that would have extended drives- imagine what might have been had he held on to those. Speaking of Benson- a humbling night for him. Probably not a bad thing. Let's see how he responds.

TBF, Cousins was up 7-0 when he left the game. That lead was lost after Mendoza came in, and Houston was also up when Mendoza was in. AOC is 1-0.

Contact powskiLaube makes me think he can be a valuable 3rd string rb complement. Kubiak system giving him short passes in space that he maximizes.
We'll see how the bad game affects Malik. He's barked like a dog in practice so far so I hope this brings it out in him on the field. The first drop mightve been yips and the other was not enough presence of mind to secure it immediately. The game feels super fast right now and they are overly wired.
I don't think he'll end up a whimpering pup. But if I was good at predicting Id be wealthy and I am not.

Not sure of Sam Warren's take on the play...if FM truly thought the receiver was gonna "settle there", I think the ball should have therefore been thrown sooner...it's also possible that FM didn't quite lead the receiver enough and it looks like he was staring down the receiver. The DB had fairly tight coverage on our receiver and possibly just read FM's eyes.
No biggie...FM or the receiver will learn from it.

Washington was moving in the same direction as Mendoza..... that's the right play. This was Mendoza moving when he didn't need to (and shouldn't have), and the outlet receiver correctly moving with him. Mendoza made two mistakes on this play, which isn't good but what matters is what he does next time after reviewing this.raidersince63 wrote: Fri Aug 21, 2026 8:50 am Not sure of Sam Warren's take on the play...if FM truly thought the receiver was gonna "settle there", I think the ball should have therefore been thrown sooner...it's also possible that FM didn't quite lead the receiver enough and it looks like he was staring down the receiver. It should have worked, he was working the progressions for the deep ball, and felt the pressure. He then went to his check down. DB was just spying on the short pass and jumped the route. Rogers screwed up as well after chipping the lineman he does not look for another blocking option. Zuhn as well, it was a terrible blocking sequence for him. As bad a throw a Mendoza made, the line is at fault as well. Grant was horrible on that play. Meredith starts well enough but loses his feet under him and is off balance as he gets blasted by his assignment. The only guy who did well on the play was Mafi. The rest were just shit.
But Mendoza needs to watch this play a bunch of times. He threw the ball, and as bad as the line was, it was his ball in his hand. But the line play was really bad, and that is just what I saw watching the play repeatedly. But everyone on one side of the field is not going to win any prizes for play design. Even the TE lined up on the right does a 5 and in route. So they literally have everyone left of the hash so the Texans were able to stack the right side in their coverage shells....DBs love that stuff.

Question, did Mendoza go in with the starters (like Cousins did) vs AZ? Asking for a friendCruisin with Tooz wrote: Fri Aug 21, 2026 8:00 am TBF, Cousins was up 7-0 when he left the game. That lead was lost after Mendoza came in, and Houston was also up when Mendoza was in. AOC is 1-0.

And they shouldn’t let your brother drive again either because your mistake means he sucks too.
