I finally cut the cable, questions...
Finally cut the cable after bill went over $250 a month for crap I never watch.
Scumbag Comast still hitting me with $95 a month on 500 speed Internet. It is what it is...
I get Netflix, Apple, Prime and Max which cover 95% of what we watch.
Just looking for the locals CBS, NBC, ABC and Fox for football.
Tried two antennas but they dont work where I am located without a major project going up on the roof or attic.
Any decent 4k options for the locals?
Thanks!

Not that big a deal to do a roof mount. Just dont pierce any of your architectural shingles. Ideal to mount onto a chimney. If you dont want to do roof mount, mount it to the fascia of an eave. Best to do it directly above your cable or directv grounding block, then run a coax cable down to the grounding block, after you disconnect the directv/cable connection. Use a drip loop and water-tight F connectors outside. Then you use your interior inwall routing to your tv. Your OTA-digital antenna will come with a signal booster that you connect between the wall and the tv. And then either a coax or USB connection between the booster and TV. Run a channel scan on your TV.
If you are switching from DTV its even easier. Just mount the OTA dig antenna right next to the DTV dish and move the coax from the dish to the OTA antenna.

The way the house is setup and the TV on an interior wall, getting the cable to the TV is a major issue, plus I don't do roofs anymore.

Hmmm, I’m a single story ranch house with a DTV. This sounds intriguingCruisin with Tooz wrote: Tue Aug 04, 2026 6:34 pm If you are switching from DTV it’s even easier. Just mount the OTA dig antenna right next to the DTV dish and move the coax from the dish to the OTA antenna.

Oh, I see why youre leery about the roof. Dont you already have interior coax cabling if you have Comcast?Rabidraider wrote: Tue Aug 04, 2026 7:27 pm The way the house is setup and the TV on an interior wall, getting the cable to the TV is a major issue, plus I don't do roofs anymore.

Mounting the antenna on a sidewall is also an option, if the wall where your electrical service enters is situated receives good reception.Rabidraider wrote: Tue Aug 04, 2026 7:27 pm The way the house is setup and the TV on an interior wall, getting the cable to the TV is a major issue, plus I don't do roofs anymore.

I do ,but not on the TV wall for some god forsaken reason. The wall is in the center of the house with no way to run the cable. without a major production. The previous owned had a transmitter that send the cable signal to the TV. Weird.Cruisin with Tooz wrote: Wed Aug 05, 2026 11:12 am Oh, I see why youre leery about the roof.
