Not sure where to post... Need some thoughts and prayers

I know I don't post much. I'm mostly a reader for info.
But I guess I just need a place to share and hope.

My father is 96. He's been in the hospital for the past week with a UTI and Pneumonia.
The Dr's are thinking he can pull through it.
He really doesn't recognize me or family, but they say it's because of the infection.
I truly hope no one has to go through what I have been this past week. I cannot put into words that feeling.
This morning they suggested that we have hospice come in when he gets home.
They said it's not the end, but it would help both us and him.
Any thoughts you could share would be appreciated.

Quick update
Dad is home and doing really well. Today was his best day since this started.
He is completely alert and aware of everything.
walked to the bathroom and back without much problem.
we are all hoping today is the start of the recovery
