The Off. Line - Complaints, Fixes, Questions, Draft
Mike Tice once said while coaching for the Raiders: “If you look at the offense like a fancy car, the offensive line is the engine. Even though we might have nice spinners and nice rims and tinted windows and some neat paint job, it doesn’t mean crap without the engine. If the engine’s not working, the car might look like a pretty nice car, but it’s a piece of crap.” And he was 100% right. I wish we had him back. Changes must be made on the O-line. Charles Grant is a very athletic lineman. We should give him some reps at right tackle. Bring back Powers-Johnson as the starter at center. Parham has got to go. Maybe we should consider moving Meredith back to guard. He did so well there last year.

If Glaze sucks ass in the off-season work he isn't going to be starting. There's enough guards that if Zuhn plays well at tackle he can stay there. Kolton Miller is one of the better tackles in the league, he won't need help. You can have a TE/back chip off the right side with whoever starts there if need be

Better coaching isn't helping Glaze at RT in my opinion. He was on his ass and getting backpeddled every time I turned around. Maybe he'll be a better guard but he isn't cut out for RT.

I like the Zuhn pick. I mean a 98 pass block grade?
But his 51 run block grade is a concern.
Thankfully we have a very good OL coach. Maybe a move to the phone booth inside will help.
We shall see.

C. Grant is our best bet to replace Glaze at right tackle. We can't have a lineman who gives up 10 sacks.Goodtimes333 wrote: Mon May 25, 2026 9:35 am If Glaze sucks ass in the off-season work he isn't going to be starting. ...with what looked to be some promising kids drafted last year, and with that coaching and 'offense', we know very little about the young reinforcements, who lost a pretty valuable year of coaching, though also had a year to get stronger, which is a need for just about every kid coming out of college.
...and regarding the coaching, it is not like we are comparing good coaching this year to average coaching last year, as what we all saw was a guy who had absolutely no business being in that role, and to be fair, seemingly also having been put (with the bumbling chipster) in a position that a far better coach would have still been challenged, with players taking it upon themselves to meet and try and figure it out as best they could.
....either way, we should have a much better read on all of that in the earlier month to come, and in part, based on what the coaches try and d , or not do, with certain players early on.....

I think Grant needs to stay as the backup to Miller on the left side. We'll see what Dennison can do with Glaze or move Zuhn to RT.erickench wrote: Tue May 26, 2026 5:58 am C. Grant is our best bet to replace Glaze at right tackle. We can't have a lineman who gives up 10 sacks.

Glaze is ass. No coach can turn shit into ice cream. There is no way this turd should be starting (maybe should not even be on the roster).

Going to guess if he is this bad that he would have already been given the Tyree Wilson treatment or they wouldn't of had him out there in the first place with what is presumed to be the majority of staters for the first team (Miller, Linderbaum, JPJ).RI RAIDER wrote: Tue May 26, 2026 8:43 am Glaze is ass. Based on what? He's never played RT. He's a LT and that's it.erickench wrote: Tue May 26, 2026 5:58 am C. Grant is our best bet to replace Glaze at right tackle. We can't have a lineman who gives up 10 sacks.

And if he looks good I would keep him on the left side. With Miller's injury history he will be needed there sooner than laterBoKnows81 wrote: Tue May 26, 2026 9:31 pm Based on what? He's never played RT. He's a LT and that's it.

I've read Rick Dennison has a PhD in this system multiple times. He's spent 10 seasons explicitly holding the title of offensive line coach over his 30-year NFL coaching career.
The Raiders offensive line surrendered 64 sacks (rank 31st) and gave up 164 total pressures (ranked dead last) in 2025.
DJ Glaze gave up 10 sacks and 54 (almost ⅓ alone) pressures last season.
I cant stress enough how Linderbaum will steady the offensive line by anchoring the interior, commanding pre-snap protections, and serving as the focal point for Kubiak's new system.
-He has elite Pass Protection Metrics with a 96.2% pass block win rate.
-His Pre-Snap Leadership and Protection Calls will take over the entire "operation" by calling out line adjustments, identifying blitzes, and setting dummy calls. His communication relieves massive pressure from the quarterback and prevents the communication breakdowns.
-He's a master of the Outside Zone Run Scheme. Linderbaum possesses elite athleticism and mobility to pull, climb to the second level, and wall off linebackers in space. This specific skill set is the "bread and butter" required to unlock explosive running lanes in this system.
Outside of Kubiak, Dennison is my favorite coaching hire and Linderbaum is my favorite get.
Outside of Jeanty having a quiet 1321 yards from scrimmage and 10 TDs last season, nothing really worked.
I believe thinks are going to finally change.
We all have Raider PTSD and where most of need to see it before we can believe it, i will say you have to believe something will work before it works.

It should be noted that a lot of sacks can be blamed on Geno for holding the ball way too long.KillerRaider30 wrote: Wed May 27, 2026 7:00 am Gm brothers.
